[0.9] Love & Hate

While 0.9 is a step in the right direction I find that I have mixed feelings about it and was wondering what other people thought.

What are a few things you love and hate?

Love

Iron Golems and Slaves: Adding unique units is always welcome

New Stats: Removing secondary stats and changing accuracy/dodge allows for much more diverse champions and units

Hate

Blood Traits: seem much worse than the stat differences they replaced. 25% fire resistance and + 2 init in armies with 3 or less troops are horrible racial abilities.

Counter Strike: Counterstrike is way more powerful than it should be. +2 counterstrike makes you doublestrike anyone that hits you, not really comparable to backswings second chance on miss or extra dmg from hammers. Should just give two counters a turn.

I think the blood traits are great, but they need to be balanced. Fire resistance + 25 % is much weaker than + 30 spell resistance for example, but the tarth ability (+ 2 init and attack in small troops) is powerful if you play with a single sovereign.

Counterstrike would be better balanced if more monsters had the ability to ignore counterstrikes.

One hero combined with 2 units is a very powerful combo - either the hero supports the units by healing  or the units protects the hero enabling the champion to cast mass damage spells - the initiave boost is a nice bonus for that YAY guerrilla tactics

Multiprong lesser stacks of doom ftw

I agree with your Loves. As for the hate...

I think the " + 2 init in armies with 3 or less troops" is a very interesting idea. It completely changes how to play the Tarth, and it makes them very interesting. I do agree that it is not as interesting, and the Tarth need more. But Kael has already said that the team want to do more with factions, and more is coming.

Counterstrike is fine, because there are ways to avoid it now (spears and range). Wizard1200 is right in that a simple way to fix it being too strong is to give more monsters immunity to it.
