Mechanism to stop steamrolling?

Mechanism to stop steamrolling?

Hi all

Just wondering is there going to a mechanism to stop steamrolling? Something like unhappiness in Civ and the Total war series of games? (ie if unhappiness drops too low the city revolts etc)

I just feel like currently once you have a stack of doom u can steamroll all the AI cities leaving them no time to build up any defenses or armies to fight you... does anyone else get into that kind of situation?

I'll put it this way. Losing troops to events that are beyond your control is by far the most annoying aspect of a game, to me.

From disease in Total War games to nukes in Starcraft or Rise of nations.

But, if you guys are fine with it, then sure.
End of Replicators's quote

It's not 'beyond your control'; you've got access to spells as well and should be able to counterspell your opponent etc. If anything, what you've said is an argument to improve magic-use by the AI - a case that's been made numerous times on these boards already.

IMO, factions should be unequal in dealing with this.  Kraxis the turtle logically should be stronger against steamrolling while others are more effectively rewarded steamrollers such as Magnar due to the Slave Lord trait.
