[.09] Very buggy

I have had very good luck with respect to the various beta versions of FE. They have been surprisingly stable.

That is until .90.

I have had a couple of crashes and one or two lockups in the first 30 minutes of play.

This is with new games.

EDIT: Core i3 3100 processor, WIN7 x64 w/ 4GIG RAM.

I will post my settings when I get back to the PC, but they are the same that I have been using in all previous versions.

I agree.  This first time I start a game I get an all white screen for the map.  If I hit CTRL-N, I get a game that I can see the main map.  However, all my battles have the all white screen for the map again.  It is completely unplayable for me.  I also had a crash, but I'm not sure about the conditions.

Same issues here.  White screen when starting a new game, CTRL-N resets the overland map to normal, but combat screen is all white and impossible to fight other than under auto control.  Additonally when creating a sovereign, and choosing his profession, warlock, general, etc. the profession now costs one of the build points.  If you skip choosing the provession until you've used up all your build points and then choose profession you get a -1 to your build points, but the game lets you save the sovereign that way and use them.

Strange - I played for about an hour with no problems of any kind.  Make sure you guys send in your crash logs so they can see whats up.

I know, they are so lucky to get all the bugs and crashes. I am at turn 250 with no crash.     #:(

So, crashing folks, could you post your GPU and computer specs? What happens if you disable lighting effects and a few other visual things? Any chance you have a single core processor?

Is there no structure on how to report bugs/errors/crashes?

YES THERE IS

Just saying you have a problem does nothing to help at all.

If all could post their specs and even graphical settings ingame - maybe it could be interpreted as helpful reporting.

I've had two crashes in 126 turns, which is actually less than half my former averaged rate with 0.86.

Initial specs seem fine. The model of video card would be good to know. I'd suggest opening a ticket with SD, too. I assume you're running the latest drivers for your video card, but if not make sure you update them.

same observation for me, this is the first buggy version - it freezes for a few minutes then the following turn it crashes to desktop

Played for another 2 hours last night.  No crashes & no bugs.  What am I doing wrong?

I have tried it on two computers. One one I have a strange problem. I cannot see the animations that you get of a unit when you click on it. And I cannot see the animation of the chosen sovereign when I start the game. BUT if I make a custom sov, I can see and cloth him.

Agreed, this version is more buggy than the prior 2 betas. I sent the error logs to SD, and encountered 1) crashes, 2) random freeze of army - army unit could not move and I could not end the turn. This occured both on the strategic map and the tactical map. The good news is that these freezes are rare, and I could get around it by reloading the previous save.

Not so Buggy!      To be clear, I have a real sympathy for the guys that are having issues with v0.90!  I've had experiences like that too, over the years, and I know how frustrating that can be!  (Please report them to Stardock.)

That said, I feel the need to provide another report, of a user (me), who is experiencing an improved degree of performance, versus what I experienced with v0.86.  I have now played about 2.5 hours total, with only two crashes, both of which ocurred in the first hour.  At this pace, my crash-rate is running at only about half of what it was, with v0.86.

Hey

Not really sure, haven’t seen a crash yet or even a major slow at max graphics, turn 212, large map with all 8 factions on it…Guess it must be related to the cpu or graphic card you’re using. I had way more crashes in 0.86. Yes there is some bugs here and there (and I will make a list soon), but no crashes. Maybe publish your specs so they can address compatibility problems?

ATI 6670.

I have an update I have been meaning to apply, but I am on 12.2 and the latest is 12.3.

Normally, I would say update drivers, but the past few years that has become almost a knee-jerk, cop-out kind of answer.

If I hadn't been running all previous versions of the game with the same drivers and no issues, it would be another story.
