Found Item Question

I have been wondering: What happens to the items that non-hero units earn in battle?

For example: My Archer and Defender Units kill a Bandit Army, and I see the pop up of finding a Set of Throwing Knives.

Where do those Knives go?

Right now (0.86) they are under a recall from the Ginsu Knife Corp, and thus disappear never to be seen again (or in the first place).

I am hoping that they will stick around under the next version (0.XYZ).

Along those same lines...and speaking of adding unnecessary features :-) ... there are times I've wished for the ability to store items in a given city, mostly so that I could have one champion leave them there and another come along and pick them up later. That would suggest a possible solution to the 'vanishing items' problem as well, namely that they get sent to the nearest city/output.

I was thinking that when(if) the unit gets to a friendly city, that item could be foud in the city store.

Now that's just silly talk Jansious!

[There has been at least one thread requesting an item vault or some such, I'm hoping SD will take notice to help reduce the tedium of ferrying magic items around. A mana cost for magically moving items around seems appropriate.]

This works great in AOW:SM and it also allows for normal units that come across magic items found on the ground or taken from fallen heros to be transported to any hero you want if you have the mana.
