Hi Heavenfall, this was pointed out on the 17th Nov by ManiiNames 'The next unique item I found was an 'Essence Binder', also very cool.  Unfortunately the Essence Binder doesn't seem to work - when killing Air Shrills it didn't do anything =\  This was a big downer, since it looked so interesting.'

I have had a read through all the following posts and haven't seen a mention of it being fixed yet, i have also had the same issue on my last 2 games of 1.5i, hoping that your looking to fix it in the next version.

I have also noticed a few times i had the Earthshaker boots (pre 1.5i) i was never able to cast the shockwave they should grant, even after getting hit over 5 times, does it show markers every time you get hit or is that part not working on them, i have yet to find them in 1.5i to test but couldn't see any mention of them before this so i wanted to throw it out incase you wanted to check them.

Absolutely loving this mod and have yet to play a vanilla game for about 2 months and growing XD

Hf, the Venusian Chanter's attack animation is taking really long in tactical combat (1.5i). I had to fight 4 of them yesterday and it was a looooong fight like this.

Thanks for the encouragement, and lots of thanks for reporting bugs like that. The mod is too large for me to notice everything now. Like the Essence Binder that got broken in 1.02 patch because they changed some stuff in the game code. But I never saw it drop in my games, so I never saw the bug.

I've read what you posted about setting up the game options so the AI can expand better. would you recommend 4 players on a medium map over 6 players on a large one, or would that be essentially the same?

My last game I played was against 6 on large. They had expanded pretty well, except for one player stuck on a peninsula. The centaurs had a HUGE area, that is, until my Frost Giant legions confiscated it.

Trying Shadows:

 

Playstyle:

  • Due to the fact that all Shadow units have massive charge capability, it really lends to using support heroes as opposed to melee ones.  A normal melee hero just will not be able to engage the enemy as rapidly as the core units can, unless the hero also has huge movement capability somehow.  Edror is the obvious exception, him I made into an Assassin.
  • Limited population resources definitely come into play if you run more than one fortress.  With a single fortress and a bunch of supporting cities it works OK.  Early on you can see a significant drawdown since pioneers also consume from your Shadow resources.
  • The first enemy to declare war and start attacking me were the Undead Skeletons.  Unfortunately most of my army consisted of spearmen at that point, which were near useless against them.  Very game-changing to have to completely rebuild my army to accommodate this.
  • Killing Juggernauts with no ranged units is extremely painful.

 

Questions:

  • Enmity is a pretty crappy trait most of the time, but regardless of that fact how does it interact with your races?  Is it a purely Kingdom v Empire thing or does it not work at all?

 

Typo:

  • Urn of Ice:  "One user per combat" should probably be "one use".

Emnity is a pure Kingdom vs Empire thing, works like expected.

Urn of ice can be used several times in different fights, so it should be one use per combat.

I am trying to get my mind around the Living Stone race.  Their negatives just seem so huge in comparison with the positives.  What am I missing?

Why are we forced to use nexus? I had to register only to be told that servers were full and I must wait.

 

You could use mediafire which don't require users to register and is never a problem, band width wise.

Whoa those fearies mean business. Are they intended to be that deadly Hf? I met a deadly stack very early on in the game and thanks to their ranged attack combined with high initiative they are really evil! Evil I say!

They only have 22 initiative, and low health. Their attack is Arcane as well, so just get some spell resist or archers and you'll be fine.

If anything they are giving too much experience at the moment, I'll reduce it for next version.

You're probably right but by early in the game I mean almost next to my capital and they DO chase me, so no time to get archery, but probably just bad luck. I do like the look of them though. :)

Hmm maybe you're right... I'll reduce them a bit. There was only one when I fought them, but I added another one to the guardian party so a small nerf is probably a good idea.

The cute guys were with 4 in my game. Making up for a marked 'deadly' stack and killing my sov, hero, two militia and defender easily from a distance.
