Funky edited-pioneer bug pair

The apparent intention in the unit design interface is that there is no way to build an upgraded (faster-moving or better defended) pioneer like you could in WOM. I infer this from the lack of a "pioneer pack" equivalent.

But you can still build improved pioneers by choosing to "edit' the design. This is apparent bug #1. For example, with the requisite techs and resources you can make your Pioneers have horses or wargs, the Scout talent, and add the other negative talent to reduce the production time a little.

In the game where you create this unit design, these pioneers are fully functional. I've built both outposts and cities with them.

But interestingly, if I use the saved design in a second game, they don't work right (bug #2). They don't get the "settle" or "outpost" options. Instead, they get an option that reads "build road" but that doesn't actually do anything - doesn't build a road, doesn't use movement points.

I built similar pioneer units, mounted with staves and movement bonuses just for fun.  But I hadn't considered them a 'bug' as I figure pioneers should be able to ride a horse and if traits are available then they should be able to select them.  If you have the horse tech you should be able to employ it.

I didn't see any build road issue though... I'll look for it.

That problem has been reported before.  Not meaning to discourage you from reporting problems, just to say that the developers already know about it.

Pioneer pack should be put into the game.  In WOM I liked building Armored Pioneers

End of Bellack's quote

Having not played WoM I do still agree to this, atleast it would be nice if they removed EDIT from current pioneers if not.

Something in the "same area" is "Sion's" have the same flaws, I havent gotten to use them in more games, but you have to edit the basic "Sion" before you can design new ones.
