Quick 0.86 Feedback

I haven't even played a full game yet, but I'm having fun with this.  It does feel rough around some edges.  For example:

1) Placing cities:

At one point in my game, I had two cities and I was surrounded by vast desert areas.  It felt like I had explored a lot, but my pioneers could settle nowhere.  I found out out "show tile yield" by going online, but this sort of thing is important and should be made obvious to users.  Also, it shouldn't be called "tile yield".  The tile isn't what's yielding the resources.  Should be something more like "Settlement resources" or something.

2) Design question:

Why exactly am I placing every building in a city after I build it?  I guess I don't really understand the strategic choice being made here.  So I can extend my city out toward strategic resources?  But I can build outposts...  Don't get me wrong, it's cool, but I wonder if it's just... unnecessary.  Maybe if city design had something going on in it...  But it doesn't really. Slots are all seem mostly interchangeable.

3) Injury mechanic:

I love it.

1: - Wait what? Not sure I understand, except of course they should make a lot of the game details more obvious especially to users less experienced in "advanced" strategic games. - Not sure what you had to go online to find out.

1.5: - Its not the tile thats yielding the resources? Oh this is news for me, I thought it was >_<... - I think this is a lesser issue that would be fixed by someone telling you about how cities work, in a bit of detail, though the spelling could be a bit more interesting, since "showing tile yield" also have some other mechanics like it doesn't show anything where you can't build a city (I would love to see some "Red" area of where I was unable to build cities, to show that THAT is the reason I cannot build the city.

2: - This is discussed intensely in another thread, for newcomers I guess they were testing out the mechanic to see how it feels, this side have goods and bads, I like it because it give some major glory when looking at cities on the 3d map, and this glory is to me only found in this game, that the city looks that kind of grand, and an autoplace feature would probably make the city look alot more boring. (personal feelings)^.

But as I said, there are another thread where this is discussed heavily...

I partly agree on the Injury mechanic, I just feel it needs more polishing :).
And meaby some steeply expensive or very time consuming way of ridding yourself of some of the nastiest injuries.

Ty for sharing though :D. Feel free to ask if you need to know anything, (though I cannot promise I know it :D)

Edit: Now it doesnt look like 1 big quote.

Let me be more specific.  First time playing, remember.  I want a new city so I build a pioneer.  I try to put them somewhere, as you would in most other strategy games, and I can't because you can only place cities in certain spots.  Okay...  How do I know this?  There's nothing pointing me to the tiny button in the upper right of the screen.  I can't click settle.  Mousing over the button and clicking tile yield both do NOTHING.  Because none of the tiles I have explored have a yield (even though I've explored quite a bit).

I'm still not even sure what it is about particular terrain that produces a yield.  How do I know it when I see it if I had show tile yield off?

"Tile yield" implies that this is the yield of this tile.  The Civilization series uses "Tile Yield" and that's why you see it here.  By using the same terminology, they are implying that it works similarly, but it doesn't.  This isn't tile yield, this is "the resources your city would get if you settled in this particular tile".

I personally do hope they fix the User Interface to be more informative about this! I played the game a couple of playthroughs and are not even sure, some spots you cant build on because they provide no grains, some spots you can build on because they're are too close to another city (within 8 tiles).

In general grass = food, so that = you can build cities there. (grass can be green and purple... dont ask :D). If you hover over it, it would show "Plains" in the top right "help box", along with an estimate "Tile Yield".

At some point I hope someone comes and teaches me about the quote system, sorry for the previous post looking abit weird.
(and helping me not clicking the quote button instead of the edit button, GAH I sometimes get so tired of not being able to delete a recently posted - post.
