crushing blow and mauling effect

I recently made an attack with crushing blow, which is supposed to take away your dodge for the next turn or attack against you. Maybe it was just the way the info displays when the ai misses an attack but the floating text claimed that i dodged the attack against me - which technically would not have happened.

also. perhaps the mauling effect of the bear should be limited to 1 bonus attack per round since i have witnessed a single bear destroy many low defence units. Should a bear be able to destroy 6 units in a fight. If it was any thing else that did not have the maul effect the bear would have lost the fight very quickly.

edit: oops not i didn't use the beta forum

Anyone know if each extra attack of the maul effect from bear have a higher and higher dodge?

I have been TRYING to get hit from maul to see how many extra attacks it gets, but I always dodge.

It appears maul will keep hitting you until you dodge, but each round you have a higher and higher chance to dodge. Even L1 hero's appear to dodge anything after the second attack from maul.

Actually with each successive maul attack the attacker gets a (i think -4) accuracy penalty.  So unless the defender's dodge value is ridiculously low, the maul is bound to be dodged at some point.

In one recent game I played, every time I encountered a bear it succeeded with the first attack and then made 4 consecutive Maul attacks. I only dodged successfully on the 5th Maul.
This happened at least twice each in three different battles. Not once did my unit dodge until it had taken 5 attacks.

Even groups die quickly when they take that much damage.

I find it exceedingly unbalanced when something as low-value as a bear can do enough damage to kill itself in one battle and do it every time, but my units take close to a dozen attacks to kill it.
This guarantees you lose at least one or two units going up against a bear, and the rewards do not balance the cost.

I think it is funny that people complain about bears. One unit of bowmen is usually enough to kill them without ever getting hit. They are intended to force the player to avoid melee. Or just use an Assassin with high dodge. There are so many strategies to avoid bears. If one is getting 5 hits on you, it is a high level bear with high Accuracy. The argument could be made that Maul is overpowered, and it is still a little buggy, but we are supposed to be strategists.

So strategize.  :cylon:

I cant see a problem with bears, I like that it forces the player to think about attacking (should be a newbie warning though, or some help in the tutorial to make new players look for abilities). (I usually engage bears, only when i have 5 or more dodge rating). - Obscuring mist can help too.

Havent picked maul because of the dodge debuff, all my champs seem to have more dodge than damage xD (not exactly, but I usually have lots of dodge on melee characters, to help mitigate damage, and bears).
