[bug][0.86] Best armor selector in unit design tops out at leather


Attached is a save game where the top armor selected is leather with the auto armer select when their is chain and plate armor available.  Also, the supplied units precreated maxed out their armor at leather as well.  The selection chosen with the auto best available is picking wierd results even with weapons and armor.  For example, between the mace +12 and the warhammer +11,-3 init, the warhammer is picked as the best wwapon.

 

Also, 2 handed and 1 handed cutting weapons, and magic staves don't make a selection at all when choosing the best available option button for unit creation.

I can't look at the save, but I have noticed this when the units are too weak to use heavier gear, they will not load up a unit with gear that puts them over 100 encumbrance.

Encumbrance is not the issue.  I can individually select all the plate armor with the war hammer weapon on the horsey and have an encumbrance of 80.

 

I also noticed that when my city is attacked, my militia choose the plain war hammer and no armor at all.  I know that I played games in the past where I did not research weapon smithing and had the magic tech that gave the magic hammer.  In those cases, my militia had the magic hammer.  But in this save game, the plain hammer is chosen even though I have the mace and magic war hammer available.

 

edit: Clearified in above statment that the tech that makes the magic hammer and mace are researched.

I don't think they ever get armor for militia, but yea, all the rest is pretty weird then...
