Corrupt File

from Stardock Forums

I have the 'FallenEnchantress-0.86_beta_setup.exe' but when installing I get the following error ...

 

File is corrupt.

 

... I have downloaded the file 5 times and get the same error each time.

 

Any answer ?

I have the same issue. File downloaded 3 times. At 96% during extracting the archive I'm getting "File corrupt"

Well, I have the same problem.   It fails at the 95% extract point.   If you fully uninstall FE and try again... you will get buy this point.    But, the installer itself ends early at around the 45% mark. 

 

If anyone can get past that point... please let us know.

If you're just downloading it straight in the browser, you might try using a download manager to help ensure the file doesn't get corrupted midstream.

I have literally tried two different download managers and at least 12 different download attempts.    The results are either a crash at 95% in unpacking or the installer bugging out at around the 45% mark.   The consistency suggests a problem with the install detecting something. 

 

I know that there are other strings discussing this issue that mention the download manager.   At least one of the strings was resolved by the user actually restoring his system to a prior point rather than using a new download manager. 

 

I have tried cleaning up the registry after the uninstalling the prior install with a registry cleaner.    But, I think there may be a possibility that something is left there.  I also have a directory from a prior install that I can not get access to or delete.
