[.86][Bug]Game does not come back from computer going into Standby

Hi Everyone;

If I let my computer enter standby mode while I am playing Elemental: Fallen Enchantress, upon bringing the computer back awake the game will only show a black screen with the sword cursor.  I can access everything else that was running on my computer fine (using Alt+Tab) but I have to force quite Elemental: Fallen Enchantress using the task manager and restart it to get any kind of picture back in the game.

Keep up the great work!

Shadallark

[Edit]: Running Fallen Enchantress Beta 0.86 on an HP Laptop, i5 CPU, M 560 @ 2.5 GHz, 1.17 GHz, 2.99 GB of RAM, running Windows XP (fully updated).

So it still happens ?!  I've been avoiding standby since it messed up .7x.  Sigh, guess I should test again.

Every time I bring up the fact that ALT-TAB'ing in and out of this game is NOT reliable, everybody jumps on me.  Everybody will jump on you for having Windows XP.  But just so you know, I'm on Windows 7 and experience the same issues bro!  I really hope they fix this and quit disregarding it as only affecting a few users.  I never have any problems with ALT-TAB'ing or machine going to sleep then re-engaging with my other games.

Damn, I'm gonna get "jumped" twice !

Yes, I still use Windows XP on my desktop machine.  And yes, same as Shadallark and Trojasmic, I would like to report the existence of this ( very annoying ) bug.

Invariably, if I leave my computer alone, long enough for it to go into Standby Mode, it crashes to a black screen, with only the crossed swords cursor shown.  The cursor does not work however; and the ONLY way to recover from this crash (at least for the purpose of playing the game again) is to "hard-kill" the machine, by pushing the manual on/off button on my CPU cabinet.  As a result, it takes a long time to recover from this crash; and sometimes I just stop playing FE for a while.

The thing is, guys, if we don't report this sort of bug, how can we expect that it will ever be corrected ?

I actually have no issue alt tabbing. But I play in window mode with it set to take up the whole screen rather than full screen mode.

That's the traditional work around for Stardock games that have this problem.
