[Kudos-but-maybe-flavor-problems] The AI using my units.

So I played through most of an easy game as Altar, during which I designed a spear cavalry unit I called "Lancers." Lo and behold, Altar is building them in the next game I play (I'm not looking forward to facing this unit...).

On the one hand, I think this is pretty cool. On the other, what if, in a sheer glut of metal and minerals, I design a fully tricked-out armored knight as Tarth? It doesn't really fit with the sort of lean, horse-archer-y aesthetic that is, I am happy to say, sort of coming through in the game. So what do people think-- is it more important that we, the players, get a taste of our own medicine, or that the flavor of the AI factions is preserved when we play against them?

AI doesn't design units by itself. As long as that's the case, it's going to have to copy player designs in order to remain competitive.

IMHO this is a good feature as it helps maintain challenge in the game even after you've nailed some really effective designs.

As long as the copied designs are limited to the original faction I think it is good. If someone then complains that the unit they are facing is really the sort of unit that faction should be using, then they shouldn't have designed it that why in the first place. So Tarth should only use Tarth etc.
