I wouldn't argue against updating this trait now that caravans have been limited. But they are still in the game. They are just auto-built. And there is the Economic Treaty which sends a caravan to an opponents capital city. That's an immediate +10% gildar. I often set these treaties right after I meet a new faction. It gives me a road to use for eventual conquest, and as the caravan moves it reveals the map and eventually the location of that factions capital. It's a good way to locate the other factions. But the caravans often get killed. But not Capitars :~)

Ah... interesting.  Alright, couldn't remember if they were removed, or just the ability to manually build them were.
