[0.86] Out of Memory Error Crashes

I had an Out of Memory Error crash just a bit ago. My game had been getting more and more sluggish as I saved it every turn, and crashed once on an attempted load. So, I rebooted my computer, started the game up again with almost nothing else running in the background, and got an Out of Memory Error crash within 5 minutes. Ouch.

Is it remotely relevant that when starting a new game and checking my processes FE takes up 656K of memory, but when loading up this specific save game, FE takes up 1,500K?

During the game above where my game went bonkers, I did a bunch of saving/reloading. I recently played a game through to turn 140 without ever reloading, except after exiting the game completely and I've had no stability problems whatsoever. No crashes, no corrupted graphics, nothing.

Yeah I had no 'Out of Memory' problems before, but now I do.  Can't save except with autosave.  My game's running at 2.5 gigs of memory, and it just failed with an autosave as well.  I might be stuck at turn 100 lol. -_-  Only when I added HD and other mods to Skyrim did I get here w/ memory useage.

By the way, I have the world settings at default except a large world with dense monsters.  Maybe this is using up lots of resources?

It's been suggested to me by a dev that the game has some issues with saving and loading right now, and that it can corrupt the game or make it unstable in some manner. I gave them a file with a game hang issue, and was told this was the case, and advised to avoid saving and reloading.

Avoiding saving and loading's kinda scarely lol.  Never know when game'll crash after 100 turns of no saves

I think part of the problem is how you like to play.  I love playing on hard settings, huge world, with max opponents.   That tends to mean a lot saving and loading.   As a result my game seems to be more unstable than most.  I am getting "out of memory" constantly.  Like with the first version of Elemental, it happens all the time.  Loading saves, saving.   Triggers also include fighting monsters in the wilds sometimes just turn to turn crashes.
