[0.85] Nice one guys this is a real improvement

I have had a look through the forums but I haven't seen one positive post about 0.85. (at least in the titles). While the posts that I have seen about 0.85 offer much criticism (constructive and otherwise) I am surprised that no one has come out to say that the game is now fun and challenging.

 

Can I then be the first to say that 0.85 is a significant leap forward. I had fun and I got my arse handed to me by the AI.

 

I played 4 hours straight last night and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I had mercilessly campaigned against one of my competitors and taken his cities. I was wrapped up in my own campaign that I ignored Yithrl too long he eventually swept in from the wastes and severely savaged my empire.

Can't wait to start a new game.

Hahaha... missed mine I guess. Yeah, this is a massive step forward, and its an enjoyable step for sure. I must say I'm having a blast blasting mine enemies to smithereens.

Big time agree with the sentiment here, although I have some other positive posts.

 

The game seems to be really taking shape. I enjoyed it a lot last night. I couldn't stop playing, and I got my butt kicked a few times as well. KEEP IT UP!

Its alot more stable also and its definatly more of a challenge!

 

Now if only this game had a coop along the lines of Total War Shogun2, I would be in heaven! hehe

I have just successfully completed my first game of 0.86. I scored 3325 points.

 

I have had quite a few CTD with both 0.85 and 0.86 something that I did not have a problem with in v 0.77. These would occur at random moments.

 

However, this is now an enjoyable game. I felt I had to really work it, even towards the end.I had to balance my armies and heroes ensure that they were moving with purpose in order to prevent my enemies swamping me with hordes of soldiers.

 

I hope that diplomacy is expanded slightly, I miss the option to be able to extort money or other goods from weaker nations.

 

I did have weird problems, like caravans that started appearing, especially after re-loading a game from within a game. Also the outposts of other nations would remain after I captured a city whose ZOC included the outpost.

 

All in all this is becoming exactly what I had hoped for. Keep going guys it is getting there

The game is definitely harder on regular.        Overall stability is good.       

The .86 beta of FE is fun.    (I know -  we are supposed to be working on bugs and feature requests not having fun).

Thanks for a great improvement.   I'm beginning to get the "just one more turn" urge with FE.

What do you mean caravans that started appearing> There are supposed to be Caravans traveling between cities and even a cities if you have the tech researched

@blackrainz  up until recently I never saw any actual caravans. Now they are appearing as "units" down the left side of the screen. Here is a screenshot

 

BTW the hero for hire near the bottom of the picture cost some astronomical amount of money -  I am talking in the millions of gold. :)
