[0.85][BUG] four graphical/ui bugs (updated: crash dump)

Just a few graphical glitches I found so far.  Fresh install of 0.85 on Win7 64-bit, nVidia GeForce 610M, driver version 8.17.12.8548.

1. Missing 3d models on sov selection screen.

2. String placeholders in the "merchant" trait. Also, this trait was not listed during sov selection above.

3. Sand golem health bar filled with random noise (varies from battle to battle).

4. Trait tooltip [A] on the tactical unit infocard is glitchy; it appears briefly and disappear immediately. I noticed that after it disappears, there is an extra unit tooltip in the top right corner [B], maybe that has something to do with it. Also, sometimes the unit tooltip doesn't show up at all when hovering over a unit on the tactical map.

Nice work otherwise! Cheers.

Found out why this was happening: I have an nVidia Optimus-enabled notebook, but for some reason FE does not trigger the dedicated GPU to kick in when it starts up. That's a bug. This means the game is running entirely on the integrated Intel HD3000 GPU (kudos for making it smooth enough on underpowered hardware that I didn't even notice!). I can only assume that the Intel chip is missing the required level of shader support, preventing the sov selection models from rendering, and possibly the health bar glitch as well.

Unfortunately, when I try to force the FE process to run on the dedicated GPU, I get an immediate crash. Will email debug.err files (one working, one not) separately.

Driver upgrade from ASUS stock 285.48 -> 295.73 solved the crash for me.

FE still doesn't switch to the dedicated GPU automatically, but I can force it now, and can confirm that problem (1) above (missing sov models) is resolved when running on 610M.

Here's the dump file from that crash: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17586863/FallenEnchantress0_86-2012-02-24T20-06-41-275.zip

The video driver causing the crash (285.48) is the latest driver available for this graphics chip (both from nVidia and from ASUS). I had to use a modified inf from laptopvideo2go in order to install the 295.73 driver, which isn't officially supported.
