What happened:
(1) I started building on an air shard
(2) Either the same turn or next turn, I cast Corruption on it.
(3) The shard disappeared from the map entirely! At the beginning of my next turn, it reappeared as a Death Shard.
Also, I couldn't build on the Death Shard after this sequence of events took place. The "Build" button appeared and was clickable, but clicking it didn't do anything.
this also happens when you settle as an empire on a life shard. It takes a full turn to convert to a death shard.
Ok, and for extra weirdness: after a long time (probably at least 20-30 turns), I happened to look at the shard again, and it had turned back into being an air shard! I was able to corrupt it again and this time I could build on it.
