[0.77 Bug] Loot randomization seems bugged

There has got to be something screwy with the loot randomization.  The last game I played, I must have found 8 pair of gauntlets, but not much else armor-wise.  I just started a new game, and so far my loot consists of 3 Hate stones, 3 compasses, a Champion spear, and 2 poison daggers that I have not seen in about 10 previous games (but I have 2 now).  So 8 of 9 pieces of loot are duplicates.  There must be something that is causing this.  Maybe it is just a statistical oddity.  If not, perhaps the loot picker could slightly reduce the likelihood of a piece of equipment being chosen a second time (or third, or fourth).

Noticed the same thing. I've had games with 'runs' of shields, boots, capes, umber stones, and escape scrolls, to name a few examples. I would also say swords and daggers, except it seems like there aren't really many other magical weapons, so that's not so much a picker problem.

The random number generator might not be all that random...

There are really two sets of randomness going on. First, you have the random pool inside every goodiehut, for example it can choose between 5 items or a super-random item. The super-random item chooses from the larger pool that has practically all items and armorpieces. But when you're looting low-level goodiehuts, you're much more likely to not get a super-random item.

The compass is a perfect example of an item that is very frequent outside the super-random pool.
