FE instance still running after leaving game

The title is pretty self-explanatory.

At first I thought the game had problems starting, but it turns out it has problems exiting. After leaving the game, I sometimes have to manually shut down the fallen enchantress process in task manager.

Dunno what causes this. Anyone noticed the same thing? Maybe I'm even posting something that's been posted before (wouldn't be surprised). If so, I'm sorry.

I ran into this once. Dunno what caused it either, all I know is 2 hours later I could still hear birds and crickets. Had to manually shut down the process.

Unfortunately, it didn't generate a debug.err, so I didn't have any technical data to send to stardock.

I find it weird in the game that you can exit to the main menu but then click Continue to go back into your old game. I'm not sure if it has much to do with that or not, but it's just strange to me that you can exit your game back to the main menu and still be playing it.

I'll have to check FE and see if it's running next time I quit it.

And Lord Reliant, I think you might be on to something. It's as though the game becomes dormant when you go back to the main menu.

When I do leave, if the process is still active, it eats up 50% of my CPU, too... Pretty hefty!

Wow. I wonder if there's a thread that's not being killed after clicking exit. Threading has been an issue with a lot of crashes.

Happens to me almost all the time. XP, 32 bit.

Easy for me to see because I run dual-monitor with the task mgr on the other screen so I can monitor the cpu and mem usage. So I just right-click and blow it away. Once a while back I waited and it exited after maybe 10 (?) minutes.
