Windowblinds startup

You need to be a little clearer. Unless you needed a breakdown of the engineering.

To be more specific, how does wbload start itself up? It does not (seem to) appear in the startup folder, in any of the usual registry places or as a service, so I am interested in how it gets itself up and running.

It happens in the logonprocess. WB is notified (so is other apps that use the same method). The relevant key is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\WB
It uses fastload.dll to start WB. I think that this was changed not so long ago and that it was wbload.dll who was started before.

Rather than start a new thread, I have a question regarding WB startup/loading - since this thread is relevant to my question. Since it's not in msconfig/startup, I can't UNcheck it. How do I stop it from loading during startup? If there is another thread answering my question, please let me know where it is, as all my search queries turn up nothing in these forums. TIA

Dovelady8... if your OS is XP, the only way to stop Wb from running at startup is to choose the Windows Classic Style  before shutting down.

Thanks for your quick response, Koasati. Yes, I have XP. WB is the first app I've ever used that didn't give me an option to place it in startup to begin with - or more importantly - tell me how to disable it so it doesn't run on startup.

What I should've added is that this info needs to be in the Readme.txt that comes with WB. I am relieved that you helped me out, Koasati.
