[0.77][BUG] Another factions outpost built within my borders..

Another faction some how managed to build an oupost inside my own borders, right next to one of my cities.

Those dicks!

Yea, I remember in WoM when they could come into your influence and build cities next to your resources.

Is this a bug, or is it just the computer being obnoxious?

I hope it's a bug, a faction being able to build in my territory, and steal resoruces next to my city isn't very nice.

You're right, that's not very nice.  So is that a bug, or a "diplomatic incident?"

It's not like such a thing is unheard of in the real world. There's a fair amount of bad blood between Argentines and Chilenos, in part because Argentina accuses Chile of having established colonies on the Argentine side of the border and then claiming the land for Chile because it's full of Chilean citizens.  (Whether or not that's actually true is irrelevant to this discussion.  It's a concept that people understand in real life.)

I'm hoping bug and not a feature.

I think outposts definitely shouldn't be able to be built in other's territory.  And if there is an enemy outpost, you should have to destroy it before you build another outpost near there.

I had this happen in .75

I've seen this happen in .77 - it has to be a bug.  I can't build in their territory, so they shouldn't be able to build in mine.

I've seen this happen in my games, but the outpost was put down before the borders of your city expanded.

The real bug is why did the AI put an outpost there at all?

will have someone look into it, did the game also crash?  just wondering where the zip file came from

also: can anyone tell me if they have seen the outpost be actively placed?  if it's already there and your influence is expanding over it that would be a different bug from it going in and building in your influence.  gonna be hard to fix until we know which one it is :(

no it didn't, for me at least. Eventually I went to war and cleared the outpost

did you happen to notice if it was there before your influence was? or it showed up after your influence was already there?

Didn't crash, but for some reason it still generated the Zip file after exiting the game.

On other other hand, I've also had crashes, where the zip file did not generate.

It is possible that the oupost was built before my city borders expanded, but can't verify that, because I had that city built long before I even met the faction that built the outpost.

I've been getting zip files created on exiting the game, too.  No apparent crash.

heh, it probably crashed on exit :)  well if anyone is able to notice if they are getting place before you are there or after I'll get it to a programmer. Otherwise I will just try to replicate it myself

There's one of my exit game .zip files here.  I have a lot of them, let me know if you want more

I've had the computer city push my outpost out once they built a city next my outpost and I've built cities next to computer outposts and pushed out their influence.  The result looks just like what you're screen shot displays.  Thus far, haven't had a computer build actively come into my domain and build though.

I just realized that screenshot has trees!  My overland map doesn't show the trees.  Guess I'll reinstall and see if that helps.

I have seen many times where they or I will build an outpost then the Influence over takes it yet the outpost is still under the original owners command however resources convert to new ownership
