Paths should replace professions

I think the paths (warrior, defender, assassin, mage and governor) should replace the professions (scholar, adventurer, hunter, general, warlord, ...), because the paths ...

- should be unique

- should define the hero

- are more powerful

- should improve the army in addition to the other effects:

  - Warrior: + 5 attack to all units if only one hero is in the army

  - Defender: + 5 defense to all units if only one hero is in the army

  - Assassin: + 2 initiative to all units if only one hero is in the army

  - Mage: + 10 spell resistance to all units if only one hero is in the army

  - Governor: + 2 movement to all units if only one hero is in the army

Totally disagree here! The paths are unique to 'champions' and have little to do with the sovereign. The professions of your soveriegn should adjust the way you play the game (they are currently too minor to do so, but hopefully that will change).

In the event you simply mean to adjust the effects of the available paths, that might be okay, but your numbers should really be percentages as +5 attack to a group is worth more than 3 levels of tech. Plus.. the governer.. should probably be sipping tea at home, no reason to give this bonuses out to his 'army' of dried leaves and baked goods.

Hmmm, the sovereign has to choose one path at level 2 and in my opinion this selection should be moved to the character creation. The numbers should be high to give the player a reason to use only one hero per army, but perhaps the numbers should scale with the level.
