[.77][Balance] Regulars Need To Be Able To Be Upgraded

It should be cheap enough to afford for any one unit to get to the next tier.

I would think, if you are doing the cost the way I think you are, that 100 gold per tier would be reasonable. Maybe a little more in the endgame.

Upgrading my whole army should be something I am constantly doing when I have surplus Gildar.

Right now it seems to be getting skipped when you balance things as it is somewhat of a tertiary issue. I nonetheless think it should be addressed.

I agree with this. If by tier you mean upgrading to new weapons or armor etc. etc.

As it stands now your poor early army are worthless as soon as you have some heroes with some levels. Or later on when you have gained better equipment. Not sure how much money you make later on but the cost should be something like maybe 50 gold? I´m sure the developers will make this better with a little help from all the nice ppl in this community :)

You can currently upgrade the weapons and armour of units that have been designed for upgrading. All you need to do is have the unit within your area of influence and when selected there are Upgrade choices in the actions menu (you may need to hover on the up-down arrow after 'Shop' if it doesn't display.

The trouble is the cost is really high. Being charged the difference in metal I don't have a problem with but the Gildar is way too high.

I haven't been able to find a way of upgrading the party size but that should also be an option.

Right. I was saying that it is not a good choice right now due to cost.

Indeed, I was asked 1800 Gildar for upgrading a single spearman from basic spear+leather to legendary pike + chainmail after arena, although it would take me less than ten turns to train a new one. It looks like units pay almost as much  for upgrading  as hero would pay for buying the same stuff.

Presumably the cost should actually be related to the cost of the new weapons and armor (at most), or the cost of the new weapons MINUS the cost of the old weapons (at the least, and assuming a thriving market in old weapons).

Of course, the cost of weapons is in metal and labor, and we want to pay metal and Gilder, but the conversion rate from labor to Gilder should not be too hard to work out.

An excellent idea.

Would upgrade costs include crystal (when upgrading to stuff that requires it)?  Anyway, I like the idea. =)

Holy overpriced! I just took at look at upgrade cost for one of my units for the first time. It wanted 1500 gold just to update a Bow?! Then for my "Death Knights" it wanted of 6000 gold to upgrade from leather to chainmail armor?! Definitely need some work done, these prices are rediculous!

I tried to upgrade a unit of 5 and it was going to cost 20,000 just for the armor.  Never even tried upgrading after that.
