[Performance 0.77] Very slow at end of turn

After installing patch 0.77, ending a turn takes a lot longer than in the previous version, even on the lowest difficulty level on a tiny map takes a long time, on a medium map it can take up to a minute. Memory efficiency is slightly better though. Haven't run into the "can't end turn" bug encountered in 0.76, but mostly because I haven't progressed enough turns for it to occur, due to the high delay at the end of a turn

A bit more info. Ending turn 1 is almost instant, the rest vary between 40-50 seconds at first and then increase to about a minute.

Wow.  I haven't seen a delay like that in 0.77 (or 0.75 for that matter).  I do have a delay of 2-3 seconds at each end turn but I assume that's the autosave (I autosave every turn while it's in beta because of crashes).

I only have to wait a few seconds (10 at the most, but most of the time only 5) to get a new turn.  Maybe there is something with your configuration, other programs running, etc.  I know that 0.77 is the most stable FE beta yet, and later game seems more manageable too (in terms of not crashing as much, and perhaps less cases of corrupted saves - at least not yet in my first major 0.77 game, as at Season 213).

My guess is that the AI is now more multithreaded and therefore hates my singlecore processor.

I wait up to 5 seconds, never more. Even on long games. I play on a laptop from 2010. i7 with 4 cores.

Well, 5 seconds on an i7 would probably translate to 40 seconds on an Anthlon 64 @ 1.8 GHz, singlecore CPU. I'll have to wait until next month to play the beta properly(on a Pentium D). Still, the time jump between .76 to .77 is unexpectedly large.

I haven't the foggiest why, but in a game today it sort of returned to normal, and the only thing I changed was setting the amount of resources from dense to normal. Could my PC have gotten faster over the week-end? More testing to come.
