[Very Late Game Save Corruption and Crashes] Wish I could save this game! :-(

I had a really fantastic unit coming out, that had Arcane Armor and a Legendary Weapon (I chose the Axe with Backswing - second chance if first dodges) from completing the Arena, and a horse, Two Strength Traits, 1 Constitution Trait, a whole lot of accessories, and I was going to wipe out Gilden, which I had let get about three quarters as powerful as me.  However, when the game crashed, I found that the two autosaves and the manual save always crashed the game, so they must be corrupted.  It seems late game with big units and big empires you can keep playing (if no significant other programs running) but when it crashes the saves you have are likely to be corrupt and crash the game when you try to load them.  Can you have a look?

Hope these help!  I think the game is unrecoverable, but if I fluked it and it's fixable, it would be great to continue the game.  But I do hope you can make late games with big empires not get file corruption, and that you can fix the problem for future games. =)

I second this. After 4 attempts to play through I've encountered the exact same bug everytime. Very late in the game, corrupt saves and crashes abound.

Same here.

Every game I play gets corrupted saves towards the end (after 2-3 hrs of play time), and they have all crashed to desktop while playing, which necessitates a load from save, which crashes to desktop due to corruption.

If it helps, these are all on Large maps, because I like to play long involved games.

Might that be related to finishing the Arena Quest with all battles? (Giving you Legendary Weapons if you finish some obsidian Golems)? If yes, this bug has been reported. Avoid the final leg of this quest like the plague until fixed...

Have the same problem with the corrupt save games. the 2 autosaves and the manually saved ones.
