Print Screen Help!

Is there a reason why desktop objects (some of them) will not show up on a screen capture? What steps do you use?

The "print screen" key should print whatever is visiable on your screen at the time you hit the key. It captures a "snapshot" which can be imported into any graphics program. What is it that is not showing up in your capture?

Although it is possible to "print" what you capture, I did not nesessarily mean to use that word. The key "captures"

Firstly, do I just press Print Scrn?

What seems not to capture using DesktopKeeper is K-Tec Dock. I am not clear on using XP's Print Scrn though. Oh, sorry it took so long to respond, but we have been cleaning up from a CAT 1 Hurricane out here in the Virgin Islands.

Hiya...just press the PrtScn key. then open up a graphics program and press Ctrl+V (press and hold the Ctrl key and while doing so press the V key) There is no need to use any screen capture program.

When you press it, it puts an image of your desktop into the Windows clipboard, you won't see anything happen when it does it. You can then paste that into a graphics program and save it.

Finally, after many cups of coffee and an ashtray full of cigarettes + review of everything...those good folks above wrote...I GOT IT!

Glad you got it

Not to confuse you any, but if you want a screen capture of just a single window, dock or object, bring it into focus, make it active, by clicking on it once or on it's button in the taskbar and then use ALT+PrtScn...lot easier than copying the whole screen, just to cut done to what you're trying to get a picture of.
