Mini 0.76 AAR (Bugs/AI) (Screenshot heavy)
Ok, let's go.

Also,
1) The war starts when Relias send me a message "Hail, and well met, friend!". I think it's an wrong message, must be something like "Get out of my land, or there will be war".
2) After conquer the city - all population disappear.
I'd just like to point out, despite the "Rediculious" difficulty, maybe the passive % bonuses should be nerfed in favor of more AI processing... if possible. But yeah, I think Relias should have attacked.

It really does expose the total lack of AI in the game. Here's hoping it gets developed before release this time. Good post though, screenshots really show it. Even with those bonuses the AI is still incapable of winning.
AI have no strategies, it have no reaction chains. It seems that there is no reaction based prediction at all.
What AI have is very simple scripts, like "build pioneer - build improvements - build army - attack". And AI doesn't care about what happens between this events. It's just funny when someone said like "AI now attack my cities! Cool", because there is no big deal to create such AI.
P.S. Just imagine AI with 900% bonuses in other strategy games (Civilization 4 or AoW for example).
Civilization 4's AI didn't start off very intelligent and they are granted bonuses based on difficult level. Almost EVERY game does that... just not at a 900% level.
Anyways, don't attack the man, attack the problem. I promise that will do you no good.
Ridiculous should also add many more defenders per city level. $0.02
That is pretty bad. I am going to make a progress post tonight to show some examples of AI I encounter. One Challenging I seem to be facing much better AI than that. Tune in to see what I mean.
It is not about adding new bonuses for AI, it's about AI capability to build defence, attack player, ect.
I just got beat by an AI on hard... She stomped me with combined arms archers and melee...
Ahem, thanks for the feedback.
I can assure you that the AI does, in fact, know how to play the game.
If you want to participate in the beta, I would ask you to try to behave in a civil manner. This is a beta, we're looking for feedback and suggestions -- not abuse. If you are looking for a complete AI, I suggest a completed game. ![]()
Ahem, ahem.
Completed game like WoM? Just joking
This is a feedback Frogboy, and if you dont like it - that's no my problem, ok? I've got another things to do exept of testing.
Anyways, if you don't see suggestions in this post, here it is:
1) 900% - it's just nosence. Better to give more units/resources to the ai at the start.
2) AI should take into account bonuses in the city, not just build improvements (for example, if AI have 10000 gildar, it must forget about merchant)
3) AI should have good threat detection/reaction mechanism. (Mages is a great thereat you know)
4) AI must have some goals. The first goal - survive at all cost.
5) AI should always react on player units.
6) AI should get his cities back.
7) AI should group his champions.
and so on... I thought you will get this conclusions from my post easily. It seems that i was wrong.
You speak English better than I speak Ukrainian. That said, what you're not understanding is that we aren't implenting specific strategies into the AI until beta 2.
For beta 1, it's about having APIs for the AI to try out and use.
For example, the AI does know about area threats. However, the API to empty its queue and refocus on military doesn't exist yet. There is currently a requirement that the sovreign wait until he has escort to attack (which isn't necessary but it's there presently due to trying to make the game play more effectively when it has no bonuses).
If you want people to read what you write, my recommendation is that you consider what you write to not be insulting. The AI obviously knows how to play the game. It's building cities, training units, building outposts, sending units off to find new outposts, choosing good units to build, buying equipment for its champions, going on quests, training pioneers, sending pioneers out to build outposts, equpping loot and purchased equipment, organizing armies, casting spells, and on and on and on.
As the game gets balanced and we see how people are playing the game, then we begin to implement more concrete objectives. That's how game AI is developed.
In other words, stop complaining about something that isn't finished yet. To be honest I wasn't expecting any AI at all for beta 1, they've put in the basic scripts for now.
As Brad says, wait until the AI is more complete (ie beta 2) before making aggressive THE AI IS RUBBISH comments.
Aaaand... Frogboy still doesn't know how to talk to paying customers. A simple "Oh, yeah, AI isn't finished and we're working on it. We'll look into the other things you reported" or just ignoring the thread would've been fine, but instead you bait a customer with vague insult-ish phrases and for what?
If you don't like my style of writing then I don't know what to say except, sorry but I write how I write and respond how I respond.
Ok, sounds like racism && "iron logic". More than enough for me, cheers!
id_est,
I am interested in the graphical bugs you have reported, in particular the eyes. Are they not displaying at all? Is there a graphical glitch on them? Could you please check that your using the latest video drivers for your installed video card? If that doesn't help, please provide your debug.err file. (found in /documents/my games/FallenEnchantress)
Thank you.
The location on the forum says you're from Ukraine.
I guess FB could have just assumed you were a semi literate jerk instead of assuming that your writing style was due to English not being your first language.
FrogBoy your patience is impressive. I'm sure I could never run a forum or game company. I couldn't ever deal with the excessive abuse that you get.

How can you complain, you are getting a response about your complaints directly from the developer of the AI? In fact he has addressed your issues specifically and given you reasons for the problems you are seeing. All that was requested was to check your attitude a bit and be more polite/civil.
