[suggestion/.76] The XP Nerf
I think what you did was a little overkill on the low levels. I think it makes sense for the higher levels though.

I tried challenging and I tried a non-int based sov, still crap exp. I can get to level 2 after a few fights sure, but that's a freebie level, and then I'm sitting at level 2 or 3 on turn 150.
It's not even that I'm just fighting lower level stuff.

Is experience split between the heroes in the army now, or do you still earn 4 times more experience from a battle if you use 4 instead of one hero?
Didn't have time to test new patch yesterday..... ![]()
Edit: Double post....
Challenging difficulty, large map, full player count, dense monster populations, random map, normal everything else. Playing as pariden. Turn 256, lvl 14 almost lvl 15. I would give you a screen shot, but I don't know how to take them in the game. LOL.
So I dunno? Its my first game of .76 though so maybe its a fluke? I'm more concerned about that fact that both soveriegn and my caster hero can throw out free blizzards thanks to talents, and the mantle of tides spell. (For that matter any spell I cast in tac combat is free for them)
Mantle of Oceans may be a bit broken right now, though I haven't had time to test it out yet. I'll report back on it when I do. Perhaps only one mantle can be maintained at a time by each caster (with rank 4 water). Xp wise, you listed killing a singular hero. Those don't typically give out xp relative to their actual level since their gear determines their difficulty and can vary widely.
Perhaps you should test killing something like bears or air shrills instead.
At this point I'm pretty sure exp is based off stats, and I was trying really hard to play a death mage type character and my only option in low levels is to stack wither while other units attack "safely." It seems like stacking wither reduces exp drastically (or there's something else at play). That wasn't my only 1xp in those games, it was just the one random battle I decided to take a screen of, I was also getting 1s from wolves and bandits.
When I first tested another civ I just went with tarth, started up, killed the first thing I saw solo with irane, was a spider that gave 3xp and I quit without testing further. I started another game later though with a fire/life mage and played for a while and everything went much smoother and I got to level 11 in about the same amount of time it took my death mage to get to level 3. I would still say the very lowest level enemies don't give enough exp, but the higher level enemies might even give too much still, so the scaling is way off anyway.
Well that is a different cake alltogether, and I agree. Fighting a monstrous pack of wolves gives less xp than fighting a single shrill. It seems like the experience system is simply based on unit type x number of units, which isn't a very accurate representation of danger.
Fighting one bandit with a bandit archer poses next to zero threat, but 2 bandit groups and 4 bandit archer groups could cause some serious injuries or casualties. There needs to be a modifier in place for the number of units present in the opposing army.
I'm going to create a bug, but doesn't anyone else think it's strange the amount of XP gained isn't shown on the Victory/Defeat screen?
It is. Notice the number next to the crown symbol? That's the exp reward, so no need for bug report on that.
After more playing, i think the xp is about where it should be. However, i play with dense monsters so on the average setting, the xp might be a little low.
