[Bug] [.86] Mountains/Hills interfere with pathfinding and tile selection

When your unit is next to a tall hill or mountain and you try to get it to go to a tile next to that location, sometimes its pathfinding is off where it will go all the way around the mountain instead of 1 or 2 tiles away. Additionally, I've had it where I can't even click on the tile I want to send the unit to, for instance, sending my sovereign to speak to a champion. Zooming in seems to fix this.

Whenever the ability to see the path your unit will take is added, that should also help troubleshooting the problem.

I can verify the existance of that bug, and I'm pretty sure I had similar issues in WOM, so it might be from some very old code.

It can really hurt the game. Makes me have to exit and reload sometimes to get to where I should be by that turn.

I ran into this problem a couple days ago. My unit was near the foot of a mountain, and I told it to go north about 3-4 squares also near the mountain. Instead of going up 3-4 squares, it tried to go south, all the way around it. Seems like a problem when I'm at the "normal" zoom level, but not as much of an issue when zoomed out further (and maybe in).

Anyone else still seeing this?

I can as well. Very irritating. I had to fire the Incompetent General (Champion) and replace him with a more seasoned Champion (one that knows how to read a map.)  I should have known not put a merchant in charge of an army :)

Yes, it's a real problem, and there are several other threads about it in the forums.  Even when fully zoomed in and clicking one tile away from where my army was, it took off in the opposite direction last night.  Very annoying.

I'm not sure if this is a path-finding problem or a display bug. Pathing is having issues, so it could be that.
