[Suggestion] Speed up tech development

I'm finding tech development to be far too slow, even when turned up to high. If I had any idea how to mod, I'd go in and double the research speed. The issue is that Heroes develop so quickly with experience that the hero strategy seems to be far more optimal than all the strategies that rely on research.

I suspect some effort on the devs' part to make sure we are all playing the same speed. I can't prove it, but fast pacing is certainly pretty slow.

I'm liking the tech speed, but more options if you want to ramp tech production up to super high or whatever would be fine.

The tech speed option is currently disabled. You can test this by starting a game and checking how long it will take to research the first tech without a city. (It should be 25 turns). Then adjust the setting to 'fast' and see how long it will take (also 25 turns).

Personally I think the magic tech tree could use some reworking. It is far too easy to research enough to acquire a force of 5 or 6 heroes and stomp the map together, while researching the military line require multiple technologies of increasing costs. Pacing needs to be increased, but the opportunity cost between adventuring tech versus war tech requires some rebalancing.

I put it on slow, and it is moving at a crawl, though I've actually like that. It's given me a lot of time to develop my champions and "settle in" to a map.

Agreed, its too slow. I've finished multiple games and have yet to reach the end of even one tree without pinning an AI in the corner and simply letting turns pass.

It's slow and I can wipe the map (if choose) before I come close to reach the heavy armours. But I play in small maps against 3 AIs. Larger maps would be still slow but in theory allow to get farther into it?

I play on large maps, and I can explore the entire map before reaching even halfway through the tree.

Nope, finished games on small, medium, and large maps, still have yet to reach the end of a tree before winning.

In fact, on the large map, I didn't even have metal armor when I won

Yes.

Agree that it is too slow.
