Elemental Forums
After using Corruption to convert a Shard (that was already built on) to a Death Shard, I was not able to use said Shard anymore.
I subsequently converted an unimproved Air Shard to a Death Shard - building a Shrine on that worked. However I still cannot build on that converted Shrine.

Oh, the Death Spell Infection doesnt seem to be working either - at least I never managed to actually spread Enchantments with it.
I think you are correct on both accounts ! 
I noticed the same. For the shard, others confirmed as well.
