[Balance] Maul is overpowered

I just destroyed the frost wildlands boss with three attacks from one lvl 10 champion and that had a weapon with Maul.

Seconded. It's a little ridiculous. I've seen it just keep on going for 5+ hits in a row. The accuracy drop off needs to be faster.

Maul is crazy. It should be limited to a second attack, or even just add a negative modifier to the opponents next attack or defence, or something like that. There is too much damage flying around from too many crazy abilities.

I do enjoy having it, though :D

Maybe 4 swings. I love a good maul.

I agree, maul in its current state is over the top. Either limiting the amount of attacks to 3 or ladd a negative modifier with each extra attack should fix this.

Should be limited to just one or at most two extra attacks, with second attack coming at 50% accuracy and the third attack at 25% accuracy. Otherwise there is absolutely no point in using any special abilities on the champion as they don't trigger Maul.

Agree accuracy needs to drop faster.

Concur, I rolled through an entire map with a weapon giving Maul, it obsoleted all other melee special abilities (and enemy troops, and...)

There's worse. The brutal scimitar I've looted by killing an unrecruited fallen champion. +27 damage, +50% Str. bonus. I didn't even have to fight something powerful to get it.

Granted though, Maul is a bit overpowered.

Yeah, Maul needs to be toned down quite a bit.  A bear - a BEAR - tore through my army thanks to Maul.

Yeah agreed maul is way overpowered but my god I loved it when I found a weapon that had that ability. I was tearing through old gods like they were made out of butter.

Yup, tone Maul done please.

Agreed, accuracy should drop faster.

9% or 11% for a first step sound sensible imo. further towning-down if needed. Doubt it needs to pass the 20% mark to be rendered appropriate.

It might not be a bad idea to have two versions: Lesser Maul & Greater Maul, so that low level monsters/characters can still be somewhat badass but not overpowering.

tbh there is no way this can be balanced

why on earth there should be something giving x extra attacks? even if there is a chance to miss still there would be a chance to attack n times..

nonsense

also there is already one cool skill for assassins like allowin double attack, thats already OP imo and its just 2 and its a skill you cant use always

really no way a propriety of a weapon allow the normal attack to multiply, it makes no sense

I am okay with bears having it because giants bears really would rip through an army; however, doesn't make sense for a weapon to have maul.

It is a rather neat ability and I like the random chance if you can keep hitting with it.

Rather than nerfing it, I'd rather leave it as is and develop ways of countering it. Such as a successful counterattack interrupting Maul. It is okay if some monsters can be devestated with luck. It is also going up against Bears in close combat fearful even with a strong champion, which is something I like. There just need to be tactical ways you can plan on countering it.
