It's a beta remember?

What I know is that consistent crashes when attempting to save the game is relatively game breaking. And considering the memeory issues in EWOM were never fixed because it was a problem with the underlying engine....I don't see this one getting fixed either. I thought I read in a post that memory issues had been addressed, but idk. I may be wrong, but this doesn't bode well.

I am at turn 333 and I have only had two crashes. Your best bet would be to give the devs your debug data so they can see your configuration and maybe solve the problem. Good luck.

Played 150 turns.

No crashes. Saved the game 5 or 6 times.

I got 8 GB RAM.

They SPECIFICALLY started open beta to find out bugs and crashes. No disrespect to you, OP, but I think it's GOOD that you're crashing now instead of at release when the product is supposed to be finished.

Submit those crash logs! That's how we can help make the game better.

I'll submit mine just as soon as I generate them.  So far no crashes.  Maybe I need to play some more...

Ya, sorry for rage. When I won I got some awesome loots, and then crash. I cried a little. Also, now if I load that save game it crashes every time I try to save after that. 155 season in or so. I would submit reports, but I still can't find where they are going on my machine.

-On a side note. I'm running on a 64 bit machine, with 16GB or ram, yet the game is using less than two. I know I read that it was supposed to use around 4 if you have a 64 bit machine. Is that an option I have to select somewhere?

I haven't experienced much trouble, but I'm running a 64bit OS, so if I had trouble things would be really bad. Are you guys taking that into account when you talk about whether you've been having issues? Seems important to mention, to me.

Played last night 3 hours. Saved at least 6 times. No crashes.

So, I don't think you can say the game universally has the issue. It has the issue with your pc for whatever reason. Not saying it's your fault or that you need a new PC like so many asses do. And they clearly need to ensure it doesn't happen but it's not universal.

That said, I have i7, 12gb ram win64..

So far, this feels much smoother and stable than WoM ever ever was (for me).

Try looking at C:\Programdata\Stardock\Elemental - Fallen Enchantress\

or if you installed it on another drive, try looking at the same folder on that drive

PS. It is very possible that you are not in fact experiencing a memory issue at all. Just an ordinary crash.

This is beta, finding and posting bugs is the main point of playing it early.

I don't think it's a memory leak. After like playing a few dozen turns my game tends to lockup while autosaving, but I'm on a 64bit machine with plenty of RAM. There appears to be something else wrong with saving. I've sent a debug.err from one instance of it, but the same thing has happened to me like 5 times since I started playing yesterday.

Same with me, I've crashed right after saving/during saving.  Sent in my crash log and debug.err file.   I would recommend starting a new game, most likely your save is corrupted.

I should mention that was only 1 crash for me in several hours of playing.  Most of the  time it was smooth sailing, well except for the monsters that killed me and my champion, but that is another story.

It absolutely is a memory issue. The same memory issue I had in EWON on more than one machine. Just started up my computer. Played for around 5 minutes. After a few loads, and then attempting to save this happens every time...EVERY time. So my current game is Fubared

Mmmm... mem leaks...

After a few loads,

Wait, so you are loading a few times within your game?   Isn't that one of the known issues that Frogboy mentioned would be problematic?   Loading a game within a game (i.e. reloading after you fail a combat or something).

What I mean by loading a few time is that I go out to the main menu and load from there. I wonder though if that is still consider loading from inside the game. I'm gonna try retiring and then loading a few time and see if I still get the issue.

Nope the crash still occurs if I retire all the way out of my game.

It would be really helpful if you could provide the data outlined here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/415288

Your post is the only memory leak post we have seen or have had reported and we know nothing about your configuration or settings.

Ok, well I'll send it you as soon as I figure out where it's located on my machine. I have tried several times to find it lol. It doesn't help that I can never remember how to search for hidden files on windows 7.

is it the zip file with a name like "-2012-01-20T02-24-47-879" ?

if you can get your debug.err up somewhere I can have someone take a look at it and try to figure out what's up... it should be in Docs/My Games/Fallen Enchantress

I played for about 6 hours last night & only had 1 in game crash to desktop (zip file sent in). When I reloaded autosave, game worked fine.

Running 64bit Vista w 8meg ram (older Intel Quad core) 5770HD ATI card.  Task manager has me consistantly using 3.6meg.

Game very stable for me & I had major issues with E:WOM & memory leak crashes.

Here is some more info that may be relevant. On that turn I saved before I attacked a shrill lord.

Then, right after the battle, my champion was moved over to the side instead of moving onto the square

This is the aforementioned big battle in the original post. Right after, it crashed when I tried to save, and I have been having memory issues ever since. I was able to save right after the battle another time. Not sure if this bug is related to the memory issue. I'll keep trying to find when it keeps the crash log and email that out.

Finally found the folder. It has many many crash dumps. I sent you two, though I have many more. debug.err is in there as well. It was emailed and has the subject: Fallen Enchantress report - Memory link. I also link to this post in the email.
