Options request thread.

This is to list options you wish for:

Initial list:

 

Windowed mode, didn't see an option for it


Option to be able to move the map with edge scrolling

 

Tough difficulty level: AI uses full features but no economic bonuses. 

 

Randomize AI opponents option

 

For a popup to appear and game to be paused when you've constructed/trained something, like in Civ4.

I'm almost positive they showed off edge scrolling in one of the preview videos, I spent the first 5 minutes after starting a game going through every single line in the options one by one twice thinking I must be just not seeing the option but ya, not there.

The heal spell takes way to long, cut its time down say 50-75%.

I'm at work so can't do a fancy screenshot, but on the char screen, have the encumbrance bar change color depending on how encumbered I am. I don't want to have to calculate the percentages in my head.

 

Blue = no penalty

Yellow = -1 init

Red = -2 init (or whatever the penalty is)

a couple notes, the game is actually always in windowed mode, if you change your resolution it will be smaller and in a window, not stretched full screen at lower res

 

some of these are bugs (the overlap, the string not found, range info on spell tooltips) and others I will pass along.  

 

edit: is anyone else getting string not found errors on that screen?  I see the text there fine on my test box and my main computer... and checked with some testers in house and they have text too

I also have string not found in those same places

 

I agree with each of the suggestions made in this thread so far. 

 

Also, in combat when all the abilities for the player are listed at the bottom of the screen, I keep thinking I need a way to categorize them or organize them in some way.   Maybe I am simply OCD, but???

Also, wasn't an option mentioned that would let us choose the color palette?   Where is that?

Seconded all things in the GP's post.  Would like to add:

 

Video options:

  • Vsync.  Driver overrides for this are iffy.  We hates the tearing!  We hates it so much!!
UI:
  • "Show all tile yeilds all the time" button
  • A bigger "delete" button for items in the city build queue.  It's microscopic at 1920x1080.
  • Ability to drag and reorder things in said queue.  Deleting things and having to re-add them when I need to re prioritize building soldiers because a war started is a pain.
  • Reading the ledger screen, I still don't understand how the tile yeilds affect my income.  Also, do surrounding tiles make a difference in some way?  How do I know which tiles are contributing what amount?  Civ IV/V are very clear about this with "blue circles" highlighting which tiles are being worked.
  • https://forums.elementalgame.com/391869  Show turns in movement route.  I made this request for WoM and it's back again.
Gameplay:
  • "Rush-buy" or the ability to just pay a bunch of money to get a unit out in a hurry.
  • More text quests!  I love the quests with multiple levels of dialog and options.  MORE MORE MORE!

Art:

  • I'm sorry, I don't like the "empire" look.  Staining the land monochromatic purple is not appealing.  Maybe something crazy like inverted colors would work better, so it looks "wrong" without looking "blah".  I know art style is nailed down early and is very hard to change, but something as minor as a boring look for the empires "influence" actually really takes away from the fun of playing those factions.

 

I know I'm nitpicking but that's a HUGE complement!!  The game really is fantastic.  The Stardock team really nailed the "fun" in the game, morso than in any turn-based strategy that's come out in a long, long time.  I'm talking about having HoMM II/III levels of fun here!  WELL DONE!!!

There are a lot of higher level quests with larger amount of text/choices, and as always we are always looking to add more content.  Rush production is a thing in game now, it requires the Civics tech and then will show up in the action list of any city with an item in the queue.

This also exists, it's the little icon at the top right in the terrain window, I agree that it probably could be highlighted better.

 

ALSO!  If someone who has the String Not Found bug could e-mail me their elemental.str file I would greatly appreciate it.  It should be in C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\FallenEnchantress\data\English

when i defeat an enemy and get loot i want to have an mouse over tooltip telling me what the item does. (instead of clicking ok -> go the inventory screen and look at the item)

I have the text too. So it's not only in house.

I will see about this, also you can hover on the item in the champion's inventory on the main screen without opening their details, may need to scroll a bit though...

Please add the Rush production button greyed out when you don't have the necessary tech, with a tooltip telling you that you need to research the Civics tech to be able to rush production. Otherwise the above happens and players don't know it's in the game before they stumble upon it in a tech.

It would be nice if the 'equipment' and 'trade' tabs were somehow combined. I find it really tedious double clicking my champion to figure out what they have, then going into the separate trade menu to give it to someone else. Even having the trade button accessible from within the view hero/equipment view would be great.

I can't count how many of these complaints were brought up for WoM and are still present
