I take that back, Relias is actually quite handsome now that I see him in-game.

Hehe, I play him now! I need to explore this maginficent world asap because I have to go to bed soon..... The game has no issues so far, and I play large map with 9 factions! It's already a grand game, just some tweaking needed, but I don't know what kind of tweaking that should be; perhaps it's perfect already..... (and multiplayer is needed...lol....OK, I wont talk more about that, I promise.....lost case for now)

Ok, I got a corrupt download even with a download manager?!?!?!?! Wtf!?!?!

On my 3rd try now.  Already had two corrupted, unfortunately my speeds have dropped off so I may have to cancel this one and try again tomorrow night!

I'm getting corrupted downloads as well. They just end before they're finished, with no real warning.

I expected as such. This kind of problem does get detected by download managers and they re-request the missing chunks. Still corruption does occur which is strange.

My first DL was corrupted at 97% extraction. I'm using Getright BTW..

Looks like the lines are choked now.  Even though I can normally get 400KB/s, I am getting less than 100KB/s (sometimes only half that) at 5.45 EST.

I'm still going 500KB/s it must be your area or something. I Will be done in 5 mins. Will let you know if I get a corrupt DL or not...

I don't think I have a throttled connection, but in Firefox too (I am using Pale Moon), it is less than 100KB/s.  Is the download speed based on a percentage of your normal download speed, or is there some problem with certain international lines?

Can't really tell. It might just be the specific node you're using in stardock's content delivery network.

Most of the time I am getting less than 100 K/Bytes per second (read: 100KB/s is  2 x dialup speed), sometimes a little bit over that.  Any other Aussies having low download rates for the beta?

At the rate it's going on my computer, it would be another 4 hours, minimum before it's finished (and then I'm relying on it not being a corrupted download).  I'm tempted to go over to my parents' house and see whether it is restricted to my connection and other providers in fact get a lot better download rate.

Is there any way a torrent can be made available as an alternate download method? I am also having trouble completing the download.

Guessing that won't happen. The second that it would/might happen, is the second I invite myself to the beta (I never owned WOM), which apparently isn't how they want it done.

You should be glad that you don't have to wait a month or more just to get an opportunity to try it out.

I am having massive issues for some reason. THis is my 6th attempt to download and install. After it downloads it refuses to install. Half the time my computer seems to want to refuse to load it suggesting that the file is harmful in some way. Am I doing somethign wrong?

Perhaps you've just found your first bug? I'd follow the steps to report it just in case.

When you first click on the downloaded file, it's a self-extracting archive that is pulling out the installer to the temp directory and then starting that. If it is super-slow to extract and get to the point where it's showing you the first panel of the installer window, something else (anti-virus?) on the computer has its fingers in the pie.

Dwolf63, is it getting to the setup wizard/installer windows or getting upset during the extraction?
