hey everyone. im new, and i just wanted to ask if someone can help me use litestep. what version i should download? give me a few tips and stuff like that. oh yea, and if i should even bother using litestep, or is there something thats better out there somewhere.

well until Jafo the master of Litestep gets back to help you out there, I'd go play w/ DesktopX you can have fun w/ that and not get into too much trouble until he returns.

LiteStep is no toy! It's like giving a Ferrari to a 16 year old, he can probably drive it but you better make sure he knows what he's doing. Before doing anything please read all you can, starting here:

Doreen....not a 'master'....I'm just an old hand at it....
Eric....alternate shells of any type can give you quite 'extreme customizing', but have been known to panic people when they get some interesting error messages...
LiteSTEP is essentially harmless....IF you know your way around an OS and files such as sustem.ini, for example, and can access them and edit them in Dos.
All shells require caution and the reading of manuals/instructions....and just a little understanding of what is read...

Now...if you happen to have a 'sustem.ini', I'd suggest backing very carefully out of the room....
What you should have is 'system.ini'....
