[1.2c] Issues with enemy sov handing over empire after death

These are probably known bugs, but still...

Resolns sov walzed into my territory and I ended her misery. The following happened.

Yeah, I had to google "beqeath"... It's supposed to be Bequeath.

And exactly who is she bequathing holdings to? (All dying sovs give this message it seems).

Her single city empire magically turned ownership to her neighbour, Yithril. Don't ask me why. Here's a debug.

It's supposed to go to the team that has the best relations (kids help, being the same 'type' [kingdom/empire] helps, etc.). In my experience sovereigns don't usually die until i destroy all their cities. The one time i saw an exception (which was late game) the cities disappeared. I guess no one liked them. - it's worth noting they never had a name to bequeath things to either, but i always assumed it was because they no one got anything.

Nice catch on the grammar, I can't believe I missed that. X|

I had the same thing happen in my current game but I hadn't met the recipient of the remaining cities yet in game so I assumed it was through in-game ignorance.

Enemy sov committed suicide by attacking a city I had recently conquered - alone against a large stack.

I also find it odd that a dead person speaks to the one who just murdered her....

I also have this issue, and have found it quite irritating since 1.2B.

frogboy, PLEASE put the the receipent of the bequeaths in the message at least during the polish beta.

It's not that odd, in fact in Shakespeare, classical epics, and the like, dead or dying people can speak at great length. Heck, the only reason Hector didn't in the Iliad is because Achilles had the intelligence to cut him off, tell him to shut up, and stab him in the throat.

Of course, if you really want they can replace the sovereign's picture with a picture of a piece of paper and an attorney who reads a will that says the same thing, but then takes half of it. Plus they could spend their half on demons of evil (they are lawyers) to make monsters more challenging and creating incentive to be cooperative instead of aggressive and violent. *_*

That is my experience as well. In fact, I have never seen it happen otherwise.

Sovereigns can die in freak circumstances where they end up inside enemy territory and then get bonked. Even if they have cities, they will die permanently then.

I had the same issue.  The sovereign of the top faction just waltz near one of my city with little protection.  An easy kill.  The message was similar and the cities just disappear.

Now, why we even have the message.  Shouldn't it go to his descendants?  Only if all are dead, than we get this message.  So i see two problems.  Wondering sovereigns with little protection and giving empire away when dead while having descendants.

I think when an enemy sov is going for a goodie hut and your borders suddenly expand and include the goodie hut in your empire, things like this can happen. I think. We were at war already and she actually had a nice army in her city, but decided to go alone with some crappy summoned thing, so I don't think she was planning to invade.

Once or twice a powerful AI sov with an army would attack me and take a city. Then they would attack the next city only to lose. Which in the old system would mean my cities disappeared....
