Your Software Sucks

I installed StarDock Central the other day to download the GalCiv II game that I'd already purchased.  Evidently there is no way to actually get the game onto your machine without using this pathetic excuse for a software program.

After I installed SDC, I entered my account credentials.  The program prompted me with a message: "Your Stardock.net account has failed to logon to the Stardock Central Servers..."

So I logged onto the Stardock site (using the exact same credentials which had just been rejected by SDC) and changed my account password, to see if that would work.  Then I updated my credentials in SDC, and tried logging in again.  Again, I got the same message.  I tried changing my password a third time, and then the program told me that the password I had entered did not match the one that was stored for my user account.  Okay, fine, I thought.  I pressed the "Email me..." button to have Stardock tell me what it thinks my password is supposed to be.  I entered my email address (the same one on my user account), and then SDC tells me it can't find my email address in the system!

What am I supposed to do now?  I emailed Stardock's tech support people on Thursday with the same problem description, and guess what -- no answer.  Not only can I not get to a game that I've already purchased because of this lame piece of "software", but I also won't be buying any future products sold via the Stardock website.

Do any other users have any idea what might be wrong?  I'd like to get this thing working so I at least won't have wasted 20 bucks.

Ah, ya it's easy.  Sorry not trying to make light of this, I know how frustrating it is when things won't work.  You don't want Stardock Central it's dated and no longer supported for what you are doing.

You should have gotten an email shortly after your purchase telling you what to do.

1). Download and install Impulse link.  Just click on the Get Impulse button on the screen.  If you don't already have an Impulse account you need to establish one, confirm it through your email etc.

2) If everything is completed right by you, then Impulse will automatically show your software purchase available for download on the My Games tab.

If after following these steps including reading the email you should have received following your purchase you still can't get your purchase, then something went wrong in the purchase process and you'll have to wait for Stardock Support to return to work on Tuesday 5/31/11.  It is a holiday on Monday so noone will be working.

If you need to contact support do so by sending one email to [email protected].  Do not send multiple emails as each one you send causes you to return to the back of the queue.

Good luck.
