Let's say you downloaded Ethereal Vortex Logon, a nice screen rated 10 by the users here. https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=26&SkinID=901
You should end up with EtherealVortexLogon.logonxp Normally all you would do is click on this file and it would open up LogonStudio, give you a preview of it and then you could apply it.
There are exceptions to this, sometimes, and Ethereal Vortex Logon is a good example of it, the author mistakenly encloses the actual .logonxp in a .zip and relabels the .zip file with the .logonxp extension. In this case extract the real .logonxp file from the .zip
Another exception is where the author mistakenly relabels the .logonxp file as a .zip file. In this case when you click on the .zip it opens WinZip or whatever you compressed file viewer is and you'll see all the individual files that make up the logon. Just close it and relabel this .zip with the .logonxp extension
