First! Yes! Awesome! Now I can finally die happy.

You know I'm starting to get really hyped for FE. I'm a bit afraid I'm getting overhyped here, as I still know so very little about the actual game.

On the contrary, I'm loving it. I didn't expect the game to get that big of an facelift back when FE was announced. I thought it'd mostly be about gameplay changes. Can't wait for the beta.

I have one question though: Will WoM get a facelift when FE gets released too? For example the more distinct forest tiles shown in the video would improve the playability of WoM considerably. I hate how I can't clearly see where the edge of a forest is in normal view.

Doubtful :( What appears to be a slight tweak (better forests, more ground textures, etc) is always the end product of A LOT of new code, so backporting such things is often undesirable (ie. could introduce bugs in WoM), and impossible for things that require Shader3.

Lookin good, just tell me I can turn the amount of wildlands on high so one might have to conqure several to get to another major faction (Minor factions would make great wildlands too)

"Yes your majesty, I understand the mighty Kraxis Empire is growing in size & number, but they must first traverse the Lizardman infested marshes & the 'Forest of the Wild Elves' to reach us my lord."

Oh, and I'm loving the constant posts, gives people like me that check in every hour on the hour every day something to quench the thirst.

That's too bad. I think after seeing the major graphical improvements in FE, I doubt I'll be interested in playing around with WoM, even if it is patched up to be more interesting than before.

I hope the mod assets made for WoM will at least be portable to FE, since FE basically only has better graphics options with the newer pixel shader?

watching the video i am still a bit baffled seeing the high bloom on the barren terrain. this look really bad imho, why is the terrain blinding me?

he is pointing at it at 0:37 seconds, if you don't know what i mean.

I have been playing again since the patch. I really missed it over the months. It still has issues but is so fascinating. After seeing this I am really stoked!

Keep up the awesome work guys!

The video doesn't seem to play for me. :(

All I see is a white screen.  Bummer.

EDIT: My computer seems to hate you tube today for some reason.

Sir Linque, and I thought you would die happy just because you were the first to post on the thread! <grin>  But I see now that you were happy to see the improvements in FE highlighted in the video. =)

Best regards,
Steven.

I was really first except I knew Sir_Linque wanted it so I passed. ;)

ah hell. I could wait 5 years for FE now IF we could just build some of those new beautiful maps while waiting.

Looks great. I wish my windowed mode worked like his. When I deselect Full Screen and choose any resolution, I am given a static window that cannot be moved that takes up most the screen.

Very nice...had to watch it twice.  Great job Stardock!

very pretty. super excited for FE!

That chasm in the world looks cool, that's the sort of thing you need to spice up the world. A broken world shouldn't be almost completely flat.

I must say that I have a really hard time getting pumped for Fallen Enchantress after E:WoM, especially with it being stand-alone. Leaves me feeling that E:WoM will never be "fixed" and was just the beta for Fallen Enchantress.

I know it's not, technically speaking, but I can't help feeling like that.

It wouldn't be the first time in gaming history where the second attempt at something winds up being what the first attempt should have been. These things happen sometimes.

I don't really care if they call it FE or "WoM 2.0", if what comes out of this process is a fun game that's all that matters.

The chasm is pretty neat, the first time I saw it I was like "WTF is that?" Is there anything down at the bottom of it?

The UI looks much improved.

So is anything nice in the works for those of us who play entirely or almost entirely on the cloth map?

That looks really good! FE will be awesome.

I whined a lot about the boring WoM graphics so... Sorry about the whining, thank you for listening. :)

Alright, you tube works today.

Looks pretty sweet. Love the chasm and the dinosaur.

WOW is all I got to say, those Chasm remind me a lot of Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium glaciers and crystal formations, notice the nice little effects you had going in the Chasm with sparks and stuff.

Makes me wonder how your gonna redesign certain resource nodes that have to deal with magic, mainly crystals, will they have these nice little arcs of raw magic sparking ever now and again I wonder ^_^

I'm officially drooling now over the stuff that's being shown XD

While I think I won't be spending much time oogling chasms if the gameplay has me engaged, this looks nice.
Could be noted that Fallout3 (for example) took place in a blighted, apocalyptic, barren setting and did a wonderful job (IMO) of making excellent landscapes.

Marketing -wise wouldn't it be better to promote Elemental FE as Elemental "II" FE?

Just to make people understand the amount of work that it represents, and make sure it doesn't get dismissed as just an expansion to a game that didn't do that well?
