Where is the dirt?

As the title states where is all the nitty gritty details on the various faction leaders? Where is our "palace paparazzi"? I would like to see much more information on our "heros/villians"

hmmm that explains a lot indeed, that little book is called The Hiergamenon and has nice little bits of information in it about the history of Elemental, A great deal of it pertaining to the time before the Cataclysm happened as well as some indepth details into each leader of each faction and information on each faction.

Though the history of the past stuff contained within is incomplete... which leaves me wanting to know more...

I can only think of one way to gain such information and I have a feeling developers... and of course our friends at SD have plans... VERY big plans later on for this series...

Hm.
I don´t know. It´s ok that you are interested in the history of Elementals world, I mean, it´s not my issue, but I personally have no interest in that.
I don´t even have the slightest interest in premade faction leaders, I never play them. I also never played premade factions in Master of Magic or in Master of Orion, and I don´t really have interest in a premade story.
I want to play and create my own story.
And accordingly I wouldn´t be interested in playing a sequel who´s only difference from the original would be a further developed story.

End of Infantes's quote

guess you don't like good story's in novels I take it...

in order for things to actually fit the world there has to be a back story at least some of us... I hope a majority of us actually like the lore and background history to the world of Elemental.

I don´t wanna take that away from you, it´s cool with me.
It´s just that I don´t look for this in a game like Elemental.
I even thought about it a little; sure, in, say, a classical RPG, I want a good story. But that´s because in an RPG playing at least somehow along the story is an integral part of gameplay.

In a game like Elemental on the other hand, a good background story is not needed, it is not part of the gameplay.
What is part of the gameplay is missions and quests that your heroes can go for, and this is the element that tells a story in game.
So having more and more diverse quests would be a cool thing for me because I would profit from it in game.
Linking those quests to much to a fictitious background lore on the other hand would most probably make it hard for the average player to understand what´s going on, so even there I wouldn´t concentrate too much on such background lore.

Doesn´t mean that there shouldn´t be more novels for the people that are really interested in this lore though!

say that after they come out with more games that have more story depth.

Elemental is the game series

War of Magic is the game, in particular it's a tactical turn based game.

Saying Elemental in general doesn't need story is like saying futures games don't need story and thus assumes every game Stardock comes out with for the Elemental Series will be a tactical turned based game. DO not assume this is the case I am quite sure there will be a difference in games. Elemental has potential to be more then just a handful of tactical games. You could have and RTS game later down the road or you could even have an adventure game, even an Adventure RPG with tactical elements in it with an involving story and background.
