[1.19l] Donkey's Red Dragon & Her Brood vs. the Hermit - Lots of Problems

Ok so I attacked the hermit with Frogboy, CariElf, Donkey's Beeyatch (Red Dragon) and a doom stack of elite young dragons. Needless to say it was pwnage. However, lots of problems experienced in that tactical combat.

  • Issues:
    • Fire from dragon's breath does not go away - see screenshot below. That's one hell of an inferno. I know this has been mentioned before but it's a real eye sore.
    • If you right click to attack with either dragon model, it attacks normal. However, if you click the attack button itself and then click an enemy the dragons do this weird 140 dmg lightning kind of attack. It seems the code tied to the attack button is tied to some kind of special ability that the dragons shouldn't have and the right click via the swords does a normal attack.
    • It's almost impossible to move dragons around, click enemies, etc. Their models apparently take up a bunch of space. This was the most aggravating part of the battle, apart from the fire that didn't go away. Both combined made this both a fun and painful experience.

I'm guessing that the problem where the attack button causes the dragons to perform some kind of spell, instead of just attack, is caused by a bug mentioned in another post where the spellbook button became mapped to the crushing blow attack, a bug which will be fixed in the next update.  However, I say this partly because I'm not able to reproduce the problem you mentioned, but of course it's possible that I'm just not following the correct steps.  Do you have to click on a certain unit (either one of yours or one of the enemies) in order for the dragon attack to become broken?  Or do your dragons do this right off the bat?  Thanks.

Hi Raa00 - I'll try to duplicate it tonight. I do remember trying to cast with CariElf and for some reason her spell book wouldn't open. Maybe that was the catalyst. I'll run it again and let you know. Thanks.

I also have had the continious fire from young dragons with just clicking on the young dragon, then left clicking on the fire breath attack button, then left clicking on the enemy that I want to incinerate, and had the fire breath last for the ENTIRE  battle even after the dragon has recharged its burner and fired for a second time.

and I rarely use spells in battles as my fully geared hero's can shred any force under 3000 attack strength EACH per battle turn with arrows( admittedly gearing each hero does COST over 30000, and if I have second move in the battle, they ARE vunerable to a COMPANY of archers using snipe, but the answer to this is to have a couple of meatshields like young dragons with the hero)

Raa00 - I think you're right. I just tried going back and duplicating this (fresh reload) and was unable to do it. CariElf does have Crushing Blow so it sounds like that bug could be the root cause. The dragons, with 47 attack power, were doing like 115 dmg per strike with the bug. At any rate if I see this again I'll post it. Thanks for looking into it.

[Edit] Also - I do remember the mouse icon as a magic casting icon, not the crossed swords. So gives more reason to believe it was the Crushing Blow bug. Thanks.

Ok, thanks for looking into in more, AlLanMandragoran, it does sound like the same bug.  Also, I don't know if I mentioned this on the same post that mentioned the Crushing Blow bug, but the bug where the dragon fire doesn't stop will also be fixed for the next update.

That's great to hear Raa00

now I don't want to nitpick but did you also get to have a look at the dragons model and the way it's overflowing into the tiles surrounding it in tacticla battle, making those tiles hard to select

I know, me neither. This time I got to a point where instead of OCDish killing everyone I just signed nonagression pacts, bought them all off, and cycled turns. That's why I was excited - it had been months since I was at end game.
