my first oom in 1.19i (at 1.3gb ram use by elemental) at turn 245 during save

updated elemental then started a new game on a 15x16 world with 10 hard/challenging ai on a 20 start map, played for approx 3 hours till OOM in turn 245 during save

zip was created, added dxdiag and saves

reloaded the savegame, which was turn 241, played on to turn 280, when a second oom happened again in the save game function(ram use by elemental was approx 1.1gb with 1.39gb ram free, so NOT out of either ram space for elemental OR available ram)

zip file was created, added saves & dxdiag

This map is to large for Elemental.  There are 3363 units on a map with 15x16 (240) sectors in a game where the largest map should be 12x8 (96) sectors.  All of those resources require memory and there simply isn't enough available to a 32bit system to do it.

thanks for letting me know, pity the map size info was not available earlier, as all of my testing has been with this size or larger.

Probably explains a large chunk of OOM issues as well. OOMs were always rare for me but i never use elementerra. Not sure why people would be surprised by this.. logical they would limit max map sizes actually supported in the default game according to what could be handled.

The larger map sizes being a memory problem makes sense.     However, it's also unfortunate.   The larger the map (and the more the resources) the more fun I find the game to be.     I hope in time there will be a way around this.

Indeed hopefully there will be a fix for this in the future, possible with the removal of the 32-bit limitation as I find myself getting large settlements and running out of land on LARGE size maps very quickly.
