background colors

hi there...i am new and have been hesitant to ask...but i am determinied to make the skin usable for everyday...the question is: i downloaded the transilvania and copperdeck themes...got them to function..the problem is whenever i attempt to open up a work related software pgm i cannot view most of it...the background is all black ..i noticed that when my cursor highlights a box, it becomes black ( the background)...only after you tab out of the box, going to a different one, can you see what you wrote...can u please help???hope i wasnt too wordy and vague...is there a way to attach a copy of the page i am referring to?? how do i send a snapshot of the desktop situation i am referring to??please reply as I have been excited to make this work…by the way, i have xp and purchased object desktop....

You have two option that I know of:
1)Change the background color through skinstudio, but this might make some other parts of the theme not look right because the color has changed

or
2) choose not to skin the application giving you problems, or skin it with a different skin. You can set this up through the windowblind config.

sorry to ask again..but i think i am gettijng closer to the solution...can u explain how i can actually perform that through windowblind config...i went to windowblinds and saw where there are prompts for "add per application setting", "modify per application setting", and "delete application setting"...just kind of stuck on what to do next...by the way, thank you for your prompt reply...that was awesome

normally I could tell you right off hand, but I have forgotten how too. I would normally look, but I am not in windows right now.

what I think you need to is "add per application setting" and choose your app thats messing up and either turn of skinning for it or change its skin. at least thats what I remember.

....i went into windowblinds and seem to have found how to modify to some degree the program...the main prob still persists which is that the background to the differentfields remains black...how do i change that or can't i just somehow not allow any of my themes to in any way change that program's basic color formatting???

I had this same problem with a dark Windowblind and after I tried most of the things you have I finally gave up and used a Lighter one. (but that was just my solution) I will be watching this thread to see if someone gives you a solution, then I will try it too.

But I must point out that it is considered a Faux Pas to start another thread on the same subject, just a little friendly advice to keep your posts in one thread, it keeps things tidier around here.
