DX 2.1 is slow....

I just downloaded the all- new DesktopX 2.1 and it slows down my computer to a crawl, and the CPU meter rockets up to 101%(how wierd, I never knew it could go over 100). Could someone help me with this sluggish release?

No problem with the latest version here................ no idea how the CPU can jump to 101%. With your comment this morning about ObjectDock, and the 'bullet' problem, I'm wondering if you might have system troubles........

The Object Dock problem is because it is running on 98se.

ObjectDock doesn't work on 98..... I don't know how you're using it at all.

As far as DX2.1 being slow on 98, I can't help you. I've never regretted getting rid of 98, and all it's flakiness.

Realistically your machine is too low spec to run much in the way of Window's customisation stuff. I know that's not what you wanted to hear but IMHO I think it's true.

The good news is that there are some great deals out there at the moment for very powerful machines for not bad prices.

I do run DX2.0, ObjectBar, and WB at the same time with no slow-downs, even in Combat Flight Simulator 2 and Battlfield 1942!

My machine can run OB, WB, DX2.0 all at one time, and I can run Battlefield 1942 and Combat Flight Simulator 2 with no slowdowns, so I think my machine is as fast as a gun starting up in 40 seconds! I won't buy a new syestem until Gateway carries Longhorn.
