1.19f - BSOD - ati2cpag.dll

Just like in the other betas I'm getting a blue screen of death occassionally. I can load WoM back up and load a save and go beyond the point it happened every time, so it isn't reproducible.

The error message is PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGING_AREA with a mention of ati2cpag.dll.

Here is the debug file. If this isn't WoM and is instead caused by a malfunction in my own PC let me know. I've seen a couple other threads about BSODs though, so I doubt it is my PC and not WoM.

EDIT: I'm full of shit. I can't load up the last auto save this time around, but I can't say why. Here it is.

Sounds like an overheating issue.. or ram malfunction to me. But I do notice your running old drivers.. and its your driver file its faulting.. so update drivers would be my first suggestion.(even though I have NEVER seen drivers cause a BSOD, certainly doesn't mean it can't happen). What video card are you running.. is that onboard?

(btw thats just my first thought... i'm sure kyro or someone will come along and offer a more knowledgeable assessment)

Onboard graphics are teh suck. I have a Radeon HD 4350.

I can rule out overheating, and if it is the RAM I'm never buying from newegg again (a gfx card that's DOA that forces me to return it but not after buying a lower tier card (the 4350) at a local store just to test, a PSU that shits out right after the 90 day warrenty which forces me to use my old one which is old as dinosaurs, and now a bad RAM stick?).

I suppose it could be my PC, but I can't imagine WoM being the only game to bring up the issue, especially when I've logged a bunch of hours in FFH2 and SCII. That's why I've automatically assumed it was WoM. I didn't notice the new drivers though, I'm installing those now.

My new ATI 5770, well new about 4 months ago has issues as well. Memory dump causing a CTD mostly but with the 1.19F release I had one blue screen causing hard reboot. Running the newest driver, I am thinking my issue is driver related. I did notice with the 1.19E release the cooling fan on the video card started spinning up and down. had not heard it before. nates1984 you can check your RAM out buy pulling 1 out and try to boot, if it fires up, repeat process with other stick. My guess is you already know that, PSU issues can cause all sorts of odd behavior and are hard to spot short of checking the voltages. Not something I care to mess with as the PSU needs to be powered up to do this and you have to stick multi-meter leads in the PSU plugs and know what is supposed to be coming out.

I know none of this fixs your issue but something to think about.
