Casting "imbue champion" on a sovie ?

I notice you can't.  Just not sure if that is really an oversight or intentional.

I'm playing a non-spell caster sovie (Xander from the book extra content), so I can't cast anything untill the kids grow up, but then it might be fun to imbue him if I could.  Were they even thinking about non-channeler sovies when they designed the imbue spell A?     (this is on 1.19e)

All sovies can cast so I'm unsure why you would cast on yourself. The mechanic is intended for the sovie to imbue his magical essence on other heroes so they can cast too. Children are automatically imbued I believe. I rarely marry because I always wait until I find Najaba. I'm not marrying not stinkin weakling gildar or tech chick. I want assassinate and dominate!

Nope.   Xander & Nym from the book extra content can NOT cast.  I think there are two other non-casters from the book, but I haven't played them.

BTW, Xander is cool.  If you like the game, might be worth buying the book for him even if you don't plan to read it.

This is probably an oversight of some kind. Did they ever cast, like back in the essence days?

Edit: This is odd, the spell imbue champion seems to target friendlychampion. I was under the impression that sovs were considered champions under this spell target type.

Here's the thing, the non magic Book Sovs, have super powers.  Xanders kids will be able to cast and his male kids will cast AND have his traits.  They are gods.  It's not an oversight, those characters are not chanellers in the book, but they have special traits to make up for it.

I certainly don't think we should discourage anyone from questioning whether something is working as intended. Derek and crew need to compile all this stuff and prioritize what gets love first. But as someone who keeps pointing out AI stuff and more recently memory issues, I think we should encourage more information, not less. What really got me going on AI was when there were broken xml tags and Brad seemed surprised. What that told me was as they tinker around with the code trying to fix all this memory stuff or generally improve the game, shit breaks and suddenly what worked yesterday isn't working anymore. The more eyes we have on all this stuff the better. I want 1.3 dagnabbit, but a functional 1.3. I don't want a Ferarri sitting in my driveway that looks all pretty and as my friends say dude, let's take this out for a drive, I say I can't because the engine doesn't work, it needs new spark plugs. And I always remind myself not all players are watching these forums as closely as some of us. They just don't know the latest across multiple threads. They're just trying to help, same place I was at back in Sep '10 when I had my WTF moment after buying the game. Anyway I'm rambling, lol.
