Sysmetrix very cool, but...

Sysmetrix is a cool application, but most skins have monitors for several drives (sometimes up to drive F:)and for a media player. I have only one drive and use Windows Media Player which is not supported by Sysmetrix so most monitors on those skins are idle.
Am I the only one haveing this problem with Sysmetrix?

I go into Sysmetrix Configuration (right click on Sysmetrix) and delete anything I don't want. I change texts and colors as I see fit to make it more legible for me. I sometimes change the information that's displayed, because I don't need what the designer put there. In other words, Sysmetrix is so configurable, within limits, of course.

As for the media player, that's part of the graphic, so it's not deletable. Download a Sysmetrix without one. Or, design your own.

I love Sysmetrix. Hard to imagine my Desktop before I had it.

Samsami, one more thing. If you do make changes, be sure to save the theme. Otherwise, all the changes you make for your personal use will be lost if you install a new theme. Then, you'd go back and have to make those changes all over again.

Save, save, save..........

Thanks Dabe! It helps, but I like P104 4SMX the best (it's the best readable on my high resolotion screen) and it has media player. Any advice about which skin to use on a high resolution screen?

Samsami, I'm sure no expert, but I did find SS-04 Sysmetrix, by SS Goku just recently. It's really simple, clean and of course configurable. But, it's not fancy or pizzazzy like Pinchecl's designs, though I really do like it alot.

Right now, I'm using Pinchecl's CP5 4SMX. I had to redo all the text, make some bolder, lose some, recenter some. I, too, need to be able to read it at 1280x1024 resolution (the extra "real estate" is so critical). It took some work, oh about 15 minutes, and it is far and away, my favorite. Sometimes I use the DX media format and sometimes I use WinAmp. Sometimes the Sysmetrix media player gets used, sometimes it doesn't.

apart form all the above, don't hesitate to ask the original author if you want something specific changed (or cut out). I reckon most of them out there are really willing..as long it's not to much of a job....
