119n DX error:

[Edit] This is weird. I just had another DX error and noticed that there is a dmp file in there. I think it was related to this crash. It wasn't there initially when I checked: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19969679/Elemental/119n/Elemental1_19n-2011-04-21T23-42-10-182.zip

[Edit] Removed my internet nerd-rage rant. I followed my own advice and sent a PM right after I wrote this post - had a response within a matter of hours of which I'm extremely grateful. The root cause of my DX errors isn't fixed yet but I'm optimistic I'll know more next week. Many thanks to Derek.   Just want to acknowledge it's appreciated.

Yikes - 1.19n issue after a fresh load and ending one turn. Moving around on cloth map and boom!

Arrgh, hot diggidy dawg, another 1.19DX error! Same thing, moving around on cloth map. Something is wrong with this map I think. I remember many patches ago playing a game on this map in this exact location and also got crashes galore.

1.20 DX CTD. Jimminy Frackin' Crickets! This time it CTD'd when I clicked on a city icon on the left UI. Fresh load around turn 46 made it to 55 before this CTD.

With respect, since this bug has been around since February and yet still persists even the "major bugfix" 1.2 version, it would be nice to know whether Stardock is even working on it.

Ya, this one in particular is driving me nuts. It appears to really be a deal specific to my rig and/or graphics card. I'm at the point now of just asking what graphics card is best for the engine and I'll go buy it. Shouldn't have to as a customer but I'm at that point.

What card do you have?  I'm using a GT240.

By the way, it isn't a fault of your card.  It's a fault of the code.

I have a ATI Radeon HD 3800 Series, current drivers. DX diag says I have approx 1,785MB of memory on it. From what I understand the ATI cards don't jive well with the Havok engine.

Well, my card couldn't be more different to yours and yet we're both getting the same error.  That's quite indicative...

1.20 DX error. Cloth map, clicking to move a unit.

1.20 DX error. Cloth map, again near settlement Filler2, fresh load, haven't even hit end turn yet... uggh.

1.20 DX error. If I get anywhere near the settlement of Filler2 via the cloth map the graphics card becomes extremely unstable. This time it did 2 pseudo dx error recoveries in a row and on the third one it crashed. To avoid these errors every turn the only thing I can do is to vehemently avoid Filler2 via the cloth map. I don't seem to have the issues with the other settlements.

I need some help here - Derek? Brad? These errors are killing my motivation to play. I've been diligently reporting them via this thread and my pseudo dx error thread for months and my particular graphics issues seem to be getting worse instead of better. I don't see anyone else bitching about these so I'm alone on an island of ATI Radeon graphics crashes! Help please!

You certainly aren't on your own.  I get the same issues with my nVidia card.  I've reported one, but won't bother to report any more until it becomes apparent that Stardock are aware of and working on the issue.

To be honest I have no faith any more that WoM will ever be fixed.  I mean, how long have you been posting about this issue?  Three months now, without a single word from Stardock.  It's shameful.

I think they want me to go away. I have a problem that is impossible to fix. My wife says the same thing. :digichet:
