I have been watching the memory usage of the application as I play. It gets unstable and prone to crashing at around 1 GB of RAM allocated. With the large 8 faction maps trouble starts around turn 250. At around turn 350 there is just so much RAM allocated that even a fresh load from a save ( I assume no issues from memory leaks at a fresh start of the application ) will put the RAM at close to 1GB which means the game starts crashing every few turns and is not playable.

A possible symptom that the memory leak exists, play the game for lets say 10-20 turns then exit to the main menu and start a new game, the amount of RAM allocated to the application does not drop, in fact it goes up as it creates the new game environment, RAM is just not being released by the application. At the very least this would be a quick and easy way to see if RAM is actually being released by the application.

Not sure if thats of any help or related to the crashes here, but who knows, so I'll give it a shot, too:

Playing on win7 64bit, 4GB ram

Never had any CtD/OOMemory-errors before 1.19 or 1.19a

When I'm playing in windowed mode, normal screen view, Turn 100/3 Cities built and am watching the memory usage of Elemental (via taskmanager, e.g.) it steadily goes up by approx. 1MB per ~8 Seconds - even if I'm doing nothing in game.

So I can just sit there Idly for ~half an hour, watch the memory usage go up/beyond 2.048kb and when I do something _then_ in the game then, it crashes. Kinda feels like it has nothing to do with the actual # of turn, just the kingdom size. (bigger kingdom = faster/higher raise in memory usage while doing nothing at all, thus faster crashing.)

If I'm looking at the cloth map in game, then the memory usage does not change at all (unless I'm doing sth ingame, of course) and thus I never got a crash yet when playing all the time in "Cloth map mode"

Good luck bug hunting !

I get memory loss when sitting idly also. If I leave elemental on the computer and come back to it a few hours later, as soon as I start to play I get the oom error. This has happened consistently the two times I have left elemental idle on the computer. 1.19 and 1.19a. There is also an issue of instant crash when loading a saved game from within the game.

I play on a medium map with just 3 other factions and crash every few turns after a certain point. Getting to that point doesn't seem to take much longer on a medium map vs a large map for me. I don't get a chance to uncover much of the map in either instance.
